Synth Single Review: "The Lost Dream" by The Ruins We Create

The Ruins We Create’s The Lost Dream is an eerie, delicate synthscape tinged with distant threat. The track’s spacious sonic environment is touched by resonant synth bubbles up and fades away, repeating as the steady background sound flows above it. A quick metallic pulse flashes in and washes away. A thin line of sound and a quick trickling noise is cut by a harsher, darker synth burst and a splattering sound.

An uncannily vocal sound chants in a ghostly line over the gigantic weight below it as a single high note hums. A breeze rustles and soft metallic sounds tinkle while a hollow rattle shifts over the ethereal glow enfolding it. There’s a worshipful and caressing quality in the track that contrasts with the metallic tapping. The music contains a sense of reverence, but also something that is unsettling and strange. This is ambient music with hidden depths and shadowy moments permeating it.
