Synth Single Review: "Supersymmetric" by Gianni Barba

Gianni Barba’s Supersymmetric has a deeply melodic feeling, intertwined layers of synth and a strong rhythm that gets into the listener's head. The track starts with a rhythmically pulsing bass and a surging tide of bright sounds as piano chords, warm and rich, climb underneath that coruscating light above them. A bursting, jumping and dynamic melodic line is carried on shiny synth over the active bassline.

The tightly-wound, leaping melodic line cries out high over an oscillating synth pulse which in turn is underpinned by the bass weight. Different types of percussion sound pop in and out as the bright, high synth pattern whirls melodically.

Twisting, full flows of synth glide through and the insistent, heavy bass line returns. The energized melody, now rounder and more computerized, shimmers and shifts around and high notes tumble down in a tide of shining sound. The interactions of all the sonic elements in the track create a detailed, rich sonic atmosphere.
