Synth Single Review: "Subject 22" by Channel Dark

Channel Dark’s Subject 22 is imbued with hopeful emotion as rich layers of synth sound intertwine, propelled by an undeniable bass line and pulsating drums. The track begins as sweeping, gliding sounds flow easily over a lightly touching but resonant drumbeat. An oscillating, nasal synth pulse adds a steady heartbeat and now the drums add more motion as a glowing, brassy lead synth soars out along with a secondary synth line radiates longing.

The synths intertwine and cry out over the pounding kick drum and propulsive percussion elements. The lead melody has a flying, reaching quality as it soars toward a crystal blue sky. The beat and bass press on while glittering, arpeggiating notes dance.

The glimmering notes move into a slower, minor key pattern with a catchy melodic feeling. Once more, the elevated synths sing out in hope and need over the relentless drum and bass throb, moving the song forward. Oscillating bass shapes the music and the drums flourish before we fade on the shimmering melody.
