Synth Single Review: "Slightly Freaked Out" by P.A.K. 50

P.A.K. 50’s Slightly Freaked Out is a restless, intricate and energy-filled synth vignette. Dense, bright synth clouds flash into the music while a rough-edged, oscillating pulse of medium-low synth is joined by a deep and solid throb of rich percussion. The drums form a hypnotic pattern under the popping, grunting bass while rippling, wide-feeling flashes of synth flow above it. A shimmering, drifting pattern floats over the lush, varied percussion and creaking bass.

There’s a pause for a roaming medium-high synth pattern to drift in and leap over the chest-thumping percussion. A wandering, arpeggiating synth pattern is underpinned by another rough-edged bass pulse and the thundering, bouncing percussion. Intertwining, sharply glowing synth wanders while the bass burst is joined by warm synth light. The track ends on massive percussion and roving, shifting synth.
