Synth Single Review: "Showdown" by Thorisson

Thorisson’s Showdown brims over with motion and energy. Many intertwining synth elements work together to produce a track that leaps forward while still creating a complex palette of sounds with a lush, rich feeling. There’s also some intricate guitar work to add another sonic layer to the music.

Quickly moving arpeggios accelerate as heavy drums move along with a shifting, weighty synth pulse. Brighter, full synths shine out over the growl and distortion of an electric guitar as arpeggios sparkle and flicker, in a minor key wash of moving sound.

There’s a great deal of layering and lushness to the synths in this track along with the tight, high oscillations of sparkling sound that move over the drums. The guitar dances and screams, howling and cascading in intricately intertwined patterns as the thick weight of the drums pulses in along with starbursts of synth over the ever-shifting sonic background.
