Synth Single Review: "Outrunner" by Electric Seagulls

Electric Seagulls’ Outrunner is a track full of shredding and energetic guitar, some spaced out and gentle synth sounds and surging arpeggios that whirl above an aggressive bass pulse and a driving beat.

An oscillating sharp-edged pulse as floating ghostly sounds move into open space, coalescing into an easy flow over the driving beat, as shining arpeggios spin out into the track. The guitar leaps into life, crying out in a wild wave as the aggressive synth pulse charges on punctuated by harsh sonic bursts.

The guitar screams out in a powerful solo and piano notes shift and move around it. Arpeggios climb and fall, adding spinning energy as the dark bass surges and the drums throb with power. There’s a dervish whirling to the next guitar solo, intricate and full of intensity, as the impassioned notes cry out. The track ends on easy flowing air and a bright glow.
