Synth Single Review: "Escape From Synth Wave" by Jokerhed

Jokerhed’s Escape From Synth Wave crackles with tension and shadowy energy. Hard-hitting retro drums guide the music as an active, oscillating bass line shifts in angular motion. The bass line is cut by tense, shining synth moving in nervously trembling, descending lines. Huge drums throb and the heavy bass has an urgent quality while the elevated, gleaming lead synth adds a fearful feeling.

A harsh synth cuts into emphasizes the worried feeling. There’s a return to the dynamic bass pulsation. The lead synth trembles in descending lines, creating the desire to take a backward glance. Bursting bass adds increased power before the music fades out.

The feeling of constant threat and a need to get away from it is all pervasive in the music. There’s shadowy low end power and terror in the high synths that adds to the track’s ambiance in equal measure. The sensation of needing to escape is almost overwhelming at times in this track.
