Synth Single Review: "Ares" by Audiowavez

Audiowavez’s Ares mixes fragility with muscled power in an interesting combination. Tranquil, gently flowing synths open the track as they move out into open space, a sweeping sound floats through and gains intensity as hard-hitting drums pound heavily. The drums form a driving pulse as rough, dense synth chords rise and a steady, higher synth forms a secondary pulsation. Now a repeating vocal sound moves along with the throbbing drums and more bursting, hard-edged synths.

The wind sweeps through again and slamming drums keep on moving. High sounds cut through and a lower series of repeating notes moves as well. A majestic, triumphant melody calls out on wide, string-like synth that moves through the vast open spaces of the track. The drums keep up their unrelenting drive as the floating, powerful melody shifts, flashes of higher synth slicing in. String-like, broad synth calls out and track fades.
