His Career in Television...
From voice overs that Stan Lee did in the 1980s in animated TV series such as 'The Incredible Hulk' and also 'Spiderman & his Amazing friends', he went on to narrate the 1989 pilot animated TV series called 'X-Men: Pryde of the X-Men'
He then appeared as himself in the 1990s season finale of the animated TV series 'Spider-Man' in the episode titled 'Farewell, Spider-Man'
His first Marvel film role came in 1989 during the movie 'The Trial of the Incredible Hulk' in which he appeared as a jury foreman. The cameo Movie roles are shown below and other roles and appearances are listed later in the article to include Mallrats, Simpsons, The Big Bang Theory and Marvels- Agents of SHIELD.
1. Jury Foreman in 'The Trial of The Incredible Hulk' (1989)
First live action TV role...
Stan Lees first live action TV role came in 1989 with the movie 'The Trial of the Incredible Hulk'.
In the movie Lee plays the part of the Jury foreman during the trial of Dr. David Banner. He is pictured in the movie sat on the left hand side of the front row.
In this movie Dr. Banner is charged with a mob crime and his only ally is his lawyer played by Rex Smith, the blind lawyers name is Matt Murdock and he is also known as Daredevil.
2. Hotdog vendor in 'X-Men' (2000)
Senator Kelly scene...
This is the first of the big X-Men Blockbuster Movies, and this is the scene where senator Kelly emerges from the Ocean naked.
He has just escaped from magneto after being kidnapped and altered genetically.
As he walks up the beach from the ocean his body becomes less jelly-fish and more human in appearance. As he stops to look around there is a Hot dog stand in the background. The vedor selling the dogs is Stan Lee.
3. Bystander in 'Spider-Man' (2002) Photo
It is the first fight scene between Spider-Man and Green Goblin. During the destructive battle Lee is the bystander that pulls a girl out of the way from falling debris.
There was also another cameo appearance, which shows in the DVD's deleted scenes. It was a role where Lee played the part of a street vendor that is trying to sell a pair of sunglasses to Peter Parker, "Just like the X-Men wear".
4. Newspaper reading pedestrian in 'Daredevil' (2003)
A young Matt Murdock...
In this scene Stan Lee is walking along the bustling sidewalk reading his newspaper when he is about to step of the kerb.
He is stopped immediately by the white cane of a young blind boy, just as a bus goes past. The boy is a young Matt Murdock (Daredevil).
5. Security guard in 'Hulk' (2003)
In this scene two security guards are leaving the building. One is Stan Lee and the other is Lou Ferrigno, the actor that played the original Hulk in the TV series and 'Trial of the Incredible Hulk'.
As they are leaving the building Banner is just entering, still wearing his cycle helmet.
It was Stan Lees first speaking role in a film based on one of his characters.
6. Bystander saving a girl in 'Spider-Man 2' (2004) Photo
Lee appears in Spider-Mans first battle with Doctor Octopus.
In a crowd gathered in the street below, he is the bystander that pulls an innocent person away from danger, as falling debris comes crashing down.
In a deleted scene that appears as an extra on the films DVD release, Lee has another cameo, where he says "Look, Spider-Man stole that child's sneakers".
7. Willie Lumpkin (Mailman) in Fantastic Four (2005)
In this scene Lee appears as Willie Lumpkin, an actual character that he created for the comics.
He is the mailman that greets the Fantastic Four as they enter the Baxter building.
Just a thought.........In the Ultimate Marvel Universe there is a Government Agent name Lumpkin who works for the Agency that runs the think-tank/school in the Baxter building. His first name is not mentioned, however he is in his forties and overweight. He is initially shown recruiting Reed Richards.
8. Watering his lawn in 'X-Men: Last Stand' (2006
Lee & Claremont cameo scene..
In this opening scene of the movie, set 20 years previously, Jean Grey uses her telekinetic powers, it is witnessed by two men gardening.
One is Stan Lee seen hosing his lawn and the other is 'Uncanny X-Men' comic writer Chris Claremont, using a mower.
9. Talking to Parker in Time Square in 'Spider-Man 3' (2007) Photo
"Man in Times Square" was how it appeared in the movies credits.
In this credited role for Lee he is seen standing in Times Square next to Peter Parker, both of them reading a news bulletin about Spider-Man, and commenting to Parker that, "You know, I guess one person can make a difference"
He then says his catchphrase, "Nuff said"
10. Wedding Guest in 'Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer' (2007)
Lee appears as himself at the wedding of Reed Richards & Susan Storm, however he is turned away by a security guard for not being on the guest list.
In Fantastic Four annual #3 (1965), in which the couple are married, both Stan Lee and Jack Kirby are both turned away.
11. As Hugh Hefner in 'Iron Man' (2008)
Heff or Himself.........
Lee is credited in this movie as "Himself" and is seen at a gala with three blonde ladies, where he is mistaken for Hugh Hefner by Tony Stark.
There were two versions of the scene filmed, one in which Stark greets Lee as "Hef" and moves on, then a second where Stark realises his mistake, but Lee responds with "That's okay, I get this all the time".
12. Soda drinker in 'The Incredible Hulk' (2008)
Lee appears as a member of the general public peering into his fridge for a soft drink. Upon ingesting the beverage he drops the bottle to the floor in reaction to the trace element of Bruce Banners blood content within the soft drink.
This subsequently leads to the discovery of Dr. Banners location at a bottling plant in Brazil.
13. Mistaken for Larry King in 'Iron man 2' (2010)
This scene is filmed at the Stark Expo, where Lee is wearing suspenders, red shirt with a black & purple tie. He is greeted by Tony Stark as "Larry King".
AC/DC contributed 15 songs to this movie from 10 Albums dating from 1976 - 2008.
14. Pick-up Truck Driver in 'Thor' (2011) Photo
"Did it work?".......
Lee has gathered with many others, at the site where Mjolnir, Thors Hammer, has landed on earth.
They are attempting to pull the Hammer from the ground with a chain tied to the rear of his pick-up truck. However this causes the bed of his truck to be ripped from its chassis causing everyone in the scene to laugh when he asks "Did it work?".
His character is credited in this film as "Stan the man".
15. General in 'Captain America:The First Avenger' (2011) Photo
Shield, both Defence & Offence.....
This time Lee is playing the role of a General in World War II, when he mistakes another man for Captain America (Steve Rogers) with the line "I thought he'd be taller"
Lee had nothing to do with the original creation of the Captain America character, however he was responsible for the idea of him using his shield as a throwing weapon and also for reviving the character in The Silver Age of Comic Books.
16. Being interviewed in 'The Avengers' (2012)
Superheroes in New York....
There were originally two cameo scenes in this movie. The one shown has Lee seated in a park as a random member of the public being interviewed about the Avengers saving Manhattan. He responds with "Superheroes in New York? Give me a break" he then turns and continues with his chess game.
He also appears in a deleted scene as the same character, and when a waitress flirts with Steve Rogers he says to him "Ask for her number, you moron!".
17. Librarian in 'The Amazing Spider-Man' (2012)
In this scene Lees cameo is that of a Librarian at Midtown Science High School.
Due to the headphones that he is wearing whilst listening to classical music, he is totally oblivious to the fight raging behind him between Spider-Man and the Lizard (Dr. Curt Connors).
He completes his task and leaves the room with the two characters still battling away.
18. Beauty Pageant Judge in 'Iron man 3' (2013)
Well done!...Have a Ten....
In this scene Lee makes an appearance on a TV monitor, as a beauty pageant judge that looks only too happy to award one of the contestants a 10.
Lee made a public apology for his cameo in this movie stating "My cameo had a couple of scenes in it that were as funny as hell. The movie ran a little bit long, and they had to cut my cameo in half".
19. Patient on a Mental Ward in 'Thor:The Dark World (2013) Photo
In this movie Lee appears as a patient on a mental ward. He loans his shoe to Erik Selvig for a demonstration about the Convergence in his delusions.
After the demonstration has finished Selvig asks if anyone has any questions, Lee replies "Yeah, can I have my shoe back?"

20. Security Guard at Smithsonian in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
My clothes, thanks...
In this Marvel Movie, Lee plays a security guard at The Smithsonian Institution.
Steve Rogers breaks in and steals, more along the lines of retrieves, his uniform from World War II
Unfortunately for this security guard its happened on his shift and upon discovering that the Captain America WW II uniform has been stolen from an exhibit he says, "Oh man, I am so fired"
21. At Parkers Graduation in 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' (2014)
Movies & Gaming...
In this movie Lee is cast as a guest at the Graduation of Peter & Gwen, and whilst all the other guests are watching the ceremony at the front, Lee catches sight of Spider-Man making a late entrance off to the right, and as he emerges from behind an outbuilding still wearing his mask, Lee points and claims "I think I know that guy!"
As well as the Marvel movie, Lee also appears in the video game of the same name.
He is the owner of a Comic Book store called Comic Stan, and he is cast as an extra character who interacts with Peter Parker.
Guardians of the Galaxy cameo...
Although originally it was stated that Lee would not be appearing in this movie due to the fact that he had nothing to do with Guardians of the Galaxy in either its creation or writing, it would seem that he did indeed have a cameo.
Rocket was scanning an area using a hand held scanner and stopped on an elderly male with a young female. Apparently this was Lee in his cameo role. Okay maybe not his finest but the tradition goes on.

Did You Know..
Stan Lee wrote the first SHIELD story in the comics with Jack Kirby.
He got the idea of SHIELD from a TV show running at the time called 'The man from UNCLE' which was about agents in a secret organisation.
SHIELD was Lees opportunity to bring back Sgt Fury from The Howling Commandos, and reintroduce his as a Colonel and head of SHIELD
Future & Latest Appearances..
Stan Lee is also to be included in Marvels next Blockbuster release 'Ant-Man' he has appeared in ' Avengers: Age of Ultron' when he appears with a group of veterans at the Avengers party in Stark Tower, where he is escorted out after drinking some of Thor's 1000 year old alcohol.
