Anthony Michael Hall started doing commercials as a young boy. Many of us remember his starring roles in famous 80’s movies including Vacation, Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club, Weird Science, and Johnny Be Good. Later he starred in 81 episodes of Stephen King’s Dead Zone, a TV series in which he plays a science teacher with psychic powers.
In 1999, he played Bill Gates in the Pirates of Silicon Valley, an excellent film depicting the life and times of both Bill Gates and Steve Jobs, played by Noah Wyle, and the rise and fall of Microsoft and Apple. He continues to act in movies and TV roles. One recent movie from 2011 which he starred in is called Last Man Standing, a movie in which he is mysteriously kidnapped and his wife, played by Catherine Bell, must use her past experience as a military trainer special-ops agent to save him.
In addition to Sixteen Candles, Molly Ringwald has appeared in several John Hughes films including The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink. She is part of the “Brat Pack” of teen stars from the 80’s. In the late 1990’s, she periodically returned to the United States to appear in several American movies and television. Most recently, in 2012, she starred in the ABC Family Network Series, The Secret Life of the American Teenager, playing the mother of the title teenager.
