Seven Johnny Gargano Matches WWE Needs to Book

Johnny Gargano made his surprise return to WWE, almost nine months after his previous contract expired in December. Gargano is now part of a promotion that has been completely overhauled since Vince McMahon's retirement and Paul "Triple H" Levesque stepping in as the new Head of Creative. Under Levesque's reign Gargano became one of the top stars in NXT history and now has an opportunity to reach new heights on a bigger stage.

These are seven matches that I think need to happen now that he's back in the promotion.

Johnny Gargano vs Theory

Starting off, we have to take a look at an obvious match that is destined to come soon. Theory interrupted Gargano's return promo and got superkicked for his troubles. With Theory still walking around with the Money in the Bank briefcase, it would be rather intriguing if he put that case on the line.

DIY vs. The Usos

Gargano and Ciampa are back together on the main roster. We can all expect a feud between the two to happen sometime. However, it would be rather entertaining if they could reunite as the DIY tag team and beat the Usos for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships.

Johnny Gargano vs. Roman Reigns

Gargano is the ultimate underdog, so why not pit him against the top dog in the ring? Truthfully, I'm tired of seeing Roman Reigns getting more matches. They need to let Roman take a break for a while.

Johnny Gargano vs. Seth Rollins

These two superstars have similar in-ring styles and independent wrestling backgrounds. However, they have never shared the ring one-on-one. Their last appearance together in the ring was the 2019 Men's Royal Rumble match.

Johnny Gargano & Candice LeRae vs. Any Power Couple

With Gargano returning to WWE, does that mean a possible return of LeRae and show fans how great she is in the ring. If and when this happens, this could lead to some great mixed tag team matchups including Edge & Beth Phoenix, The Miz & Maryse, and Rollins & Becky Lynch. I could see the pair getting their feet wet with a match against Miz and Maryse.

Johnny Gargano vs. Kevin Owens

These two are the best NXT creations under Triple H's belt. With Triple H shifting the landscape of WWE, this could be one of the best singles matches to happen in the new era of WWE.

Johnny Gargano vs. Gunther

Gargano has previously said he has his sights on the Intercontinental Champion. One would imagine a certain "general" would have issue with that.
