Rick and Morty's storyline revolves around the adventures of the members of the Smith household. The Smith family consists of, the parents Jerry and Beth, their children Summer and Morty, and Beth's father Rick, who is their guest. The family lives outside of Seattle, Washington. Rick has a flying car in which they travel through portals, as the characters travel to other planets and dimensions. Their adventures take place across an infinite number of realities. Rick disregards many ordinary conventions such as school, marriage, love, and family, and is an eccentric and alcoholic mad scientist. Morty's naïve but grounded moral compass is a stark contrast to Rick's Machiavellian ego, as he is a kind-hearted but easily distressed 14 years old boy.

Rick frequently goes on adventures with his grandson. Morty's 17 years old sister, Summer, sometimes follows them on their adventures as well. She is a more conventional teenager who worries about improving her popularity among her peers. Their mother, Beth, is a horse surgeon, a professional role she is very self-conscious about. She is also an assertive force in the household and is generally level-headed. Her husband Jerry, disapproves of Rick's influence over his family. He is a simple-minded and insecure person, which is why Beth is dissatisfied with her marriage to him. Different versions of the characters and their characteristics can vary from one reality to another, these versions inhabit other dimensions throughout the series' multiverse.

Every member of the Smith household does not necessarily identify themselves as the same dimension. In reference to his original universe. An example of this would be when, Rick and Morty move to a different dimension, leaving Summer, Beth, and Jerry behind, after turning the entire world population into monsters, in the first season episode name 'Rick Potion #9'. The series' original Rick identifies himself as "Rick Sanchez of Earth Dimension C-137".

Rick and Morty Season 6 Release Date

Rick and Morty Season 6 might release as soon as fall 2022, around September or October. Previous seasons have been extremely irregular in their releases, not following any sort of pattern. Sometimes there have even been years between seasons. However, back in 2018, Adult Swim signed a contract for seventy more episodes of Rick and Morty, so we know for sure that there is going to be a sixth season. It means that there are probably going to be more than just six seasons. The showrunners do not need to wait for any sort of approval to start production in the future seasons. This hopefully means that Rick and Morty will settle into a more patterned yearly release schedule.

What to expect?

One thing we know for sure we can expect from the next season is more crazy adventures. As Rick and Morty narrowly escaped death on the citadel, it will be interesting to see how they get back to Earth since their portal guns were hacked by President Morty. Also now that the curve does not exist anymore, we are left to watch how this new development impacts the lives of our beloved characters. And we are also left to find out where exactly President Morty went when he stepped into the yellow portal to the unknown destination. Now that Morty knows everything about his grandfather, or so we think, we wonder how this will affect their relationship as well.
