Drag queens have “amassed true cultural capital”, as Vulture said. While the reality TV show and competition RuPaul’s Drag Race has helped to popularise drag queen culture, many drag queens perform in local clubs and enjoy a cult social media following. Their fans are enthusiastic and supportive and one of the ways they support their favourite queens is to book them to record Cameos, personalised video greetings. (Related article: Cameo)

Drag Race Thailand season 2 winner Angele Anang has a profile and a perfect 5-star rating.

Also, Cameo is proving to be a good platform for newest stars from the TV show, who get a bit of extra exposure by being featured in the ‘New in Drag Queens’ section. This is also a nice discovery tool for other drag queens who may not have appeared on the show.

Searching for Profiles On Cameo

You can search on Cameo using a small number of filters:

  • Recommended
  • Price high-low
  • Price low-high
  • Number of reviews
  • Newest.

You can also search by price point (from under $100 to over $500), average review rating, number of reviews and response time (from same day up to seven days, which is the maximum amount of time allowed to reply to a request).

When you search by average review rating, which goes from 1 star and up to 4 stars and up, the filter doesn’t seem to differentiate between profiles and displays the same results.
