I was late to seeing this movie even if the first time i saw the poster i was excited. When it eventually came out, i kept postponing and then i eventually forgot. A friend reminded me about a month ago and i decided to see this masterpiece. I was in love with this movie because it had something a lot of movies don't; a perfect execution. I could see and understand the idea of the movie. It was so clear especially the theme that played very well by the colours and the environment. I loved how the message was portrayed, it wasn't too subtle or too loud. It was perfect. If you are a fan of horror don't expect so much though because it's more of thriller than horror.

Ethan Hawke was the perfect casting for The Grabber. He literally made the idea come to life. After i saw the movie i had to check if it was from a true life story (thankfully not), because i wanted to see if he fit the real person that he would have been trying to portray. But apart from him, the children delivered a wonderful performance. It seemed like they were living the reality of the movie ; the way the environment was affecting them and their peers. It was truly sad at some point. They were able to use their performance to generate sympathy from the viewers without making it so obvious. It seemed very realistic and i was really impressed

The movie had the right amount of suspense to keep you on your toes. It might not be outright horror but you will find yourself scared and hopeful for the children. As the story progressed, the suspense became more heavy with a few jumps scares here and there. This movie is far from boring, very entertaining and filled with a lot of emotions.

The colours used in this movie really stood out to me. They were able to perfectly describe the time and mood that the story was based on. Its like you could imagine being a next door neighbour to one of the kids in the late 1970s. The dark brownish hue used in the general part of the movie, gave more understanding to the viewer and helped direct the mind of the viewer to the theme of the story.

This was the best part of the movie for me. It seemed like a well thought out movie with a perfect ending. The story rolls out like a beautiful carpet, with every scene perfectly placed and delivered. I loved the ending because after every twist and turn, i was ready to see that the boy was found. I was hoping it didn't end badly like most thrillers do because there were several bouts of hope followed by a lot of disappointments. So it would have been a complete downer if The Grabber had succeeded. So the way it ended was prefect for the movie.

I completely enjoyed this movie all the way. I gave it an 8/10 and would recommend this especially for fans of suspense movies. If you have seen this movie, I'd like to hear your ratings or your thoughts. Till next time!!
