Movies come as a fun activity to most of us plus me, but i explore just a bit further some times.
There are some movies we’d totally throw out but when a particular actress is starred in it, we change our minds quicker than the speed of light. For me it’s these five actresses and if you keep reading, you’ll know why.
South African American actress and producer, she’s one of the highest paid actresses and amassed a number of awards such as the Academy Award, Golden Globe Awards among others.
She came into prominence in 1990 in movies like The Devil’s Advocate (1997). She is the first South African to win an Oscar. She has her own film company called Denver and Delilah Productions.
She’s had a total number of 100 award nominations and 39 wins. She has also been honored with a motion picture star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Her performance on Long Shot certainly gave me Goosebumps as I still try the four second breathe in and breathe out technique she talked about in the movie (can’t remember the name, sorry)
She can be seen in a lot of action movies but she does well in other roles as well such as Long Shot.
She is no stranger to being injured many times on set even from way back when she was a model but I think it’s safe to say she’s one who truly proves what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
She has featured in movies such as Long Shot (2019), Trapped (2002), Æon Flux (2005), Hancock (2008), Snow White and The Huntsman (2012), The Old Guard (2020)
American actress, comedian, writer, producer and fashion designer. She stands as an inspiration to plus sized women not just in her movies but with her clothing line as well.
She is a recipient of a number of awards including the Primetime Emmy awards, Academy awards, Golden Globe awards. She has also been named one of the best actors of the 21st century and also been honored with a motion picture star on the Hollywood walk of fame.
Some of her best works include Bridesmaids (2011), Mike and Molly (2010-2016), Identity Thief (2013), The Boss (2016), Life of the Party (2018), Superintelligence (2020) among several others.
She and her husband, Ben Falcone are founders of On the day productions that has produced quite a number of comedy films. In 2015, she launched her own clothing line, Melissa McCarthy Seven7
Why I consider her one of the best is because of her ability to give every personality she takes on a bubbly personality, one of the reasons Identity Thief will always be one of my faves.
She is also versatile as she has played roles like a con woman, ruthless female boss, awkward outdated wife among so many others and breathes so much life and fun into it.
Australian actress, producer and theater director. One of the highest paid actress with numerous accolades to her name such as the Golden Globe award, Academy Award, British Academy Film award and so on.
Her highest grossing films include The Hobbit trilogy (2012-2014), The Lord of the Rings (2001-2003), Cinderella (2015), Ocean’s 8 (2018), A House with A clock in its Walls (2018), Thor: Ragnarok (2017) among several others
She has been honoured not just in the industry but also on influential lists like the Forbes Celebrity 100 and institutions of learning such as the University of New South Wales, University of Sydney and Macquarie University where she was presented honorary Doctors of Letters degrees.
How she can go from destructive and murderous in Thor: Ragnarok to calculative in Ocean’s 8 down to subtle and searching in The House with a Clock in its Walls is truly something to be noted.
This is one talented and versatile actress, who has truly earned her place among the greats.
Indian British actress and singer. One of the highest paid Indian actresses and also one of the most beautiful as well.
She played her first leading role in Student of the Year and went on to conquer the film industry with many electrifying performances after that. Her performances in Highway (2014), Student of the Year (2012), Raazi (2018), Gully boy (2019) and especially Dear Zindagi (2016) has kept my eyes glued on this talented lady.
Despite quite a number of negative comments on her performance in Student of the Year, she went on to do so much better.
I simply love this young lady as she has truly mastered the art of showing raw emotion when she acts; it moves her audience as well. She also has this charming face that compliments whatever playful personality she chooses to take on
American actress, comedian and author. I talk about her last as my research on her led me into some stories that really inspired me about her. Yeah, she’s called crazy by a lot but what she has been able to toughen herself through is definitely a lesson to me.
Her breakthrough into the Hollywood scene came in the 2017 movie, Girl’s trip. In that same year she won a Primetime Emmy award for her work as host in the Saturday night live. She also published a memoir called ‘The Last Black Unicorn’
She is also best known by her catch phrase: she ready!
As a comedian, you can be sure that she delivers every comic relief as good and even better. She also gives every movie she stars in just the right amount of spunk, crazy and fun it needs.
She has starred in movies like Uncle Drew (2018), Tyler Perry’s Nobody’s Fool (2018), The Secret Life of Pets (2019), The Angry Birds Movie (2019), Like a Boss (2020), The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the run (2020)
