A K-drama will not be successful without having the right soundtrack. Most Korean drama OSTs are very sentimental that sometimes listening to them will take you on a trip down memory lane and lets you reminisce on memories with your young love. So I also have my Top 10 K-drama OST List from the K-dramas that I already watched. Some in English and some in Korean, but I'll be explaining what it's all about.
1. Wake Up
This song is first on my list because I am biased with It's Okay To Not Be Okay. Wake Up is one of the OST of the said drama and is sung by Elaine a South Korean singer-songwriter. It tells about someone encouraging another person to loosen up, not be uptight, and it's okay to let your guard down and let someone in your life. I like the song because it's upbeat.
The next on my list is a song by the K-pop group Red Velvet entitled Future. OST of the show Start-Up starring Nam Joo-hyuk and Bae Suzy. It talks about a woman who met the love of her life recently at the wrong time but claiming that he will be the one she'll end up in her future.
3. Nothing on You
The top three on my list is Nothing On You, an OST of the K-drama The World Of The Married. The Artist of the song is the former Season 2- X factor contestant Josh Daniel. It's a sad song about someone asking what happened to the love they once have and can they go back to the way they were? It hits right on the spot for those couples whose marriage is on the rocks.
4. Come A Little Closer
The fourth on my list is a feel-good song by Hyolyn, a South Korean Singer and a former member of the South Korean girl group Sistar. Come A Little Closer is one of the OST of the K-drama Warm and Cozy starring Kang So-ra and Yoo Yeon-Seok (one of the leads of today's hottest K-drama, Hospital Playlist.) The song is about two people who have fallen in love with each other. The guy is keeping a distance and holding back, afraid he'll fall deeper. Meanwhile, the girl is persuading him to come closer.
On top five is an OST of the show Abyss starring Ahn Yeo-seop and Park Bo-young. A sentimental song by Kim Feel, a South Korean singer-songwriter. It is about someone's unrequited love and the longing that he feels towards that person. When you hear this song, it will make you think of someone in your past that you fell in love with and regret not telling them how you feel until it's too late.
6. Still Fighting It
In the sixth place is a heartbreaking song by Lee Chan Sol, a South Korean singer-songwriter and musician. This is the only song on my list about the love of a parent. The song's title is Still Fighting It, OST of the K-drama Itaewon Class starring Park Seo-joon. It's about a father telling his son that the world is cruel and unfair. No matter how many times time changes, it's still the same. Despite it all, he's telling his son to be brave and stand up for what he believes is right because, in the end, he'll overcome all the hardships life throws upon him. I feel like crying whenever I hear this song. I remember the father killed in a reckless driving done by Ahn Bo-hyun, Seo-joon's enemy in the drama.
7. It's You
It's You by Henry, a Chinese-Canadian singer-songwriter and actor based in South Korea. This song is in the top seven on my list. It's the OST for the K-drama While You Were Sleeping, starring Bae Suzy and Lee Jong-suk. The song is self-explanatory. It is about someone finding his true love and knowing that she's the right one for him.
On the ninth spot is an OST of the recently finished K-drama Run On starring Im Siwan and Shin Se-kyung. The song title is Sorry by 2F. (Shin Yong Jae and Kim Won Joo) It's about a man who cannot keep the feelings of passion early in the relationship, and he's saying sorry to her for making a move and revealing his feelings right away.
10. Alone Again
Last on the list is another sad OST. The song is from the show Cunning Single Lady starring Joo Sang-wook and Lee Min-jung. A little trivia: Min-jung is the wife of the international star Lee Byun-hung.(Red 2) The song Alone Again by South Korean singer Big Baby Driver (real name Choi Sae Bom) is about a woman reminiscing her past with someone she loves. But thinking of him makes her feel more alone again.
