My Favorite Silver Screen Goddesses
Beauties From Yesteryear
Many if not most of these actresses were born many years before myself, but I caught them on film and was wowed by their charm and glamour. The list is by no means intended to be all-inclusive. I selected the actresses using my internal "va-voom" monitor.
This list is in no order whatsoever. My personal favorite is Hedy Lamarr who possessed an unworldly beauty.
I purposely left off ladies who were notable as TV stars. Also, I suspect I've left off some actresses because of faulty memory. Perhaps you can advise me of any omissions. I also left off actress whom I had never seen in a film. I'm bound to add to this compilation as I think of other actresses.

Lana Turner was glamorous. I remember her from her role as Milady de Winter in: The Three Musketeers (1948).

Adrian: Thanks for reminding me of the three beauties you mentioned. I do remember seeing them in a few films, albeit only on a small screen TV set somewhere back in the 60s when they would show some classics during weekend afternoons. I've included them in my listing.

Gene Tierney and Lana Turner are my favourites. Three more for your list: Debra Paget, Carole Landis and Dorothy L'amour.

Jeanne Crain was a very beautiful woman.......so many, it's hard to name them all.

Thanks much, discovery. I always appreciate a recommendation. I had "Manhattan Melodrama" in my NetFlix queue. I moved it up to the top, so I'll be watching it in the next few weeks or so. The casting alone had attained my attention.

P.S. I always recommend the following film to anyone that will listen. Great cast: Gable, Powell, Loy and Rooney. Outstanding screenplay!
Manhattan Melodrama, 1934 I believe....ahead of its time.

Melangels: It's taken me nearly a year to attend to your concerns, but I have at last. Thanks so much for being attentive. I made the correction you mentioned and added all the stars you suggested except Grace Kelly and Doris Day, both of whom I have covered under another heading. But, I really thank you for pointing out obvious omissions. I knew I wasn't getting everyone on my first try. The omissions are embarrassing but what can I say? I was creating this list off the top of my head.
Melangels on April 16, 2014:
Remove: Tallulah Bankhead, Elizabeth Scott, Fay Wray and Evelyn Keyes. Correct: Cyd Charrise with the correct name of the picture shown, which is Myrna Lou. Add: Cyd Charisse, Greer Garson, Grace Kelly, and Celeste Holmes. Ester Williams, Betty Grable and Doris Day might also be candidates.

Beautiful Pictures!
My favorite as far as looks go has to be Leslie Caron, she has such an innocent look. but Katherine Hepburn was someone I could never change the channel on.
