Mortal Kombat (2021) Quick Review

Mortal Kombat (2021) In what seems like many more to come, Mortal Kombat (2021) is a reboot of the Mortal Kombat film franchise. This movie is basically what I expected it to be, not very well story driven but it had everything a Mortal Kombat fan was expecting to see when watching the film.

New Character Cole Young

In Mortal Kombat (2021) we are introduced to what might be a new character in the Mortal Kombat franchise named Cole Young played by Lewis Tan. I initially wasn’t much of a fan but Mortal Kombat seems to be pushing for Cole Young to have major importance in the Mortal Kombat movies moving forward.

Worth it?

If you like Mortal Kombat and know what to expect by now when a movie is made based of a lore that is forever changing, I’d say theres a good chance you enjoy this movie. From character appearance, brutal fight scenes, seeing Mortal Kombat characters become who they are in the video games, and some nice Brutalities! should be exactly what you looking forward to. Now even as a fan this movie was not near perfect, I still had my issues with how certain characters were played, cheesy lines being dropped.... poor Kung Lao.

Now on the other hand, if you’re new to Mortal Kombat I don’t see you getting much enjoyment aside from the gory fights. Which was the main thing that drove this movie away from being overall terrible.
