Miss Universe Bikini Wear

Have you ever heard some of the loudest women groups claiming that women need equal rights and should be treated just as equal to men? Then when the man steps in-front of the lady and doesn't hold the door for her they complain of how men don't practice chivalry anymore. I can simply say that women who believe that they will ever be equal to men because they rally for women rights are totally confused about who they are and what is their core function in life. The Miss Universe pageant helps to make my statement quite true. But let me not stray from the topic at hand, let's look at these bikini dressing, breast and butt flaunting ladies who come on large international stages modelling their bodies for prizes. Yes, modelling their body for prizes. It is so funny how when large organizations sponsors and endorse certain events it steps up from totally ghetto to suburban. As I am positive if this kind of flesh display was taking place in the 'hood', these women would be classified under a different name I wish not to mention in this article.

How Did Miss Universe Start?

If you asked me without all the research been done, I would have said some rich set of perverted men club decided it would be a great idea to have a bunch of scantily clad women modelling their assets, faces and miniature intellectual ability for their pleasure and then crown that one individual Miss Universe. But according to Wikipedia; Miss Universe was started in the year 1952 by California clothing giant, Pacific Mills and is owned, along with Miss USA, by Donald Trump. Now, who would have thought that some wealthy men would be behind this Miss Universe fiasco? So from 1952 to now, these poor girls have been exposing their bodies for the entire world to see and at the end of all that booty strutting, only one booty will be clowned Miss Universe. Not to mention Mr. Trump is not that big when it comes on to the respect and rights women deserve, after all he did want to grab em by the cookie!

What are the holders of these contest supporting? Why would stipulate these disgusting rules on these beautiful women; not to be married, not have been married, not with child or have given birth to a child. The clear reason is that this contest does not support anything regarding family values and clearly sees women as an object and not a human being. And so said, let’s look a bit on how the Miss Universe is chosen. Miss Universe is chosen in three categories.

  • Oh well, here we go again interviewing people and asking them about themselves and a bunch of dumb questions with "expected answers." These personality puller questions are as useless as a farmer removing hay from a barn with a toothpick. In an interview, the interviewer may ask the interviewee a question such as "What do you say is your strongest skill and what can we expect from you if you are employed to this organization?" No one is going to give an answer such as; "Well, I have very sticky fingers and i am sure that i will bring a lot of excitement to your organization." No! Even if that person is the biggest liar in the world he/she would not say so as this would compromise the interview. This is the same situation with the Miss Universe Interviews. The answers have been so outdated now, it seems like "World Peace and Helping Starving Children" is the order of the day when it comes on to certain Miss Universe questions. Not saying world peace and helping starving children is a bad thing, but it seems like we have quite a few starving children out there for decades now.
  • So they also look a bit into your background and see if you have any skills which may be highlighted and if none is found I am sure one can be created right off the fly. So if you have no hobbies or skill, don't worry, before you reach the background and personality profile section of the pageant, one will definitely be created for you.

  • Swimwear, another fancy word for scantily dressing so they can see your features. Tell me why would over a 50 women be on stage in swimwear when they are not going swimming? The Miss Universe has gotten so many men off it would take all the Scott tissue in the world to clean up. So these women dress in swimwear and model half naked while stepping in a synchronized learned pattern. Meanwhile judges examine from beauty of face, making of hair, then the entire body. That’s a great day to be a judge.

Evening Gown

  • So after all that flesh flashing, they hurriedly go into their closets, examine their faces and get it all made if smudged, dash on what many may consider as dazzling evening gowns and then they all come back out strutting their stuff. It's quite pathetic if you asked me. Women parading themselves like cattle to see who is the fittest of the flock.

Prizes And Surprises

So after all that exposure and walking up and down like a loss sheep on stage what do these nice young ladies get for their exposure? To me it’s more of surprises than prizes. You would believe that a prestigious and powerful name such as "Miss Universe would warrant a magnificent cash and endorsement deals, but you may have to think again. 2015-2016 Miss Universe may only receive a flimsy cash award of 15-20 thousand dollars. The first runner up may receive a disgusting 3000-5000 bucks. The main prize of the winner is basically being employed as Miss Universe. She will get to live in NYC free for one year with all living expenses paid. The Miss Universe will receive clothing and footwear. They will have access to and appear in many New York City events, they will travel occasionally to many states in the US. She will receive a year supply of free skin and hair care cosmetics. So what to do think about all these dashing prizes? There is no $100,000 cash award, no fancy car to drive away and no real endorsement deals. What about the other disappointed skin bearing girls who will be given a pack of flowers and then sent home? Are these beautiful young ladies that desperate that they would expose themselves on international TV for a flowers gift?

So How Much Does The Pageant Makes?

Well, with all the sponsors and high class investors they should make a pretty tidy sum. The pageant is rumored to gross millions in earnings yearly and pays out what many would consider chicken feed to the women who parade half naked and sometimes end up even humiliating themselves on national TV. So to all the young beautiful women out there, you may or may not win the Miss universe, I can’t tell you to enter or not to enter. But I can leave a bit of advice you can choose to follow or ignore. Your body is a temple which houses your beautiful soul and should be treated as such. You are a woman and was designed to stand beside a man. You can do much better than being parading your ass on national TV.

Women started wearing swimsuits so the judges could see the women's posture, how they carried themselves, etc. But the judges can see all this if the women wear a modest-looking swimsuit. The women don't have to wear bikini's. And it should be done in private, away from the public - to preserve the privacy of the women.

But, of course, a lot of men watch it for the "half-naked chicks" so the pageant would lose a lot of viewers and, ultimately, sponsors/money if there was no swimsuit competition. And money talks.

So what women need to do is boycott the pageant (thus losing, hopefully, even more viewers) until the "swimsuit portion" of the pageant is more tastefully done or it's done away from the public.

@Matty Fernandez...its a pity, if only the contest was focus on mind and not body. The women are always clad in lesser clothes. They advertise their body and the best calf wins. How many short fat women have won this contest? Its all about how you look and then who likes you and who the "judges" think deserves to win.

I liked the hub, although I don't agree fully on it being sexist. I do think that parts of it are sexist and that we can often see discrimination as well. The reason why I dont point out that the entire pageant is sexist is because it just reflects where we are in society. When I watch a pageant I am never looking for the "more" beautiful but for personality, so I often get upset when someone wins that I feel does not represent in my terms "full" beauty. I mean these women are not given the opportunity to express themselves much, so all you look at is a body and clothes. I have hope because I've seen changes over the years and I'm expecting more changes in the future.

Well Clive you clearly do not live out here with us trailer trash folks. On hot days, going to the supermarket you see more ungodly overweight flabby flesh than they could squeeze onto any stage. They can't keep the tabloid racks full and public conversation revolves around drunk husbands and kids on crack.

Us unwashed masses need the hope of a little beauty in life, even if it is only skin deep.

ok frank, yes its a good show but it still exploits women sexuality

A great topic of discussion with this hub Clive, I don't know though.. I like the Miss Universe format and I like the way they introduce, produce and share talents.. but hey that's just me..:)

Don't know Venkatachari, I think it is desperation

I never understand why they are so helpless doing all this. I am always against such things. I pity.

CorneliaMladenova, thanks for stopping by and reading my hub. Maybe these women who actually model themselves lack some sort of self esteem, i don't know. Many say the beauty pageant is the same thing as body building pageant but its very very different.

Clive Williams (author) from Jamaica on September 03, 2015:

You are 100% dead on billy. Its quite puzzling, especially for the women who subject themselves to this cattle type behavior.

Bill Holland from Olympia, WA on September 03, 2015:

I've never understood it, quite frankly. It seems to me that a modern society that considers itself advanced would have been things to do that parade women around to be goggled at.

Ruby Jean Richert from Southern Illinois on September 03, 2015:

Anything owned by the ' Don ' flashes a red flag. Beware! The video was sad in a way, can you imagine how embarrassed they were? I might say that they all were beautiful....

what is the point to be spinster during her reign? Wait till past 36?

Korneliya Yonkova from Cork, Ireland on September 03, 2015:

I myself have always had pity on these poor girls. Are they so desperate, that they dedicate their time and life to prepare their bodies to be sold to rich men?
