Megha is the scapegoat
Meghan Markle is the scapegoat for all things royal. Now it is being suggested that her loose lips may sink the Royal family. The issue seems to be the fact that Prince Harry's wife did not adapt to the way of the Windsors and instead spirited the Duke of Sussex away to America. The Royal protocol is the keep a tight lip and never let your guard down. Now that Meghan is back on American soil she is conducting herself just like any United States citizen and freely voicing her opinion regarding politics. According to The Daily Mail Uk, Markle could be detrimental to her husband's position with "the firm". Meghan is back in the land where she grew up and here she can speak her mind freely. Royal watchers are treating her as if she is still an official member of the House of Windsor and in England. Prince Harry grew up in that atmosphere but his wife did not. As an American citizen, she has the right to say he she feels about the 2020 presidential election. The British press, however, continues hounding her and judging every word out of her mouth. Meghan is the scapegoat and her every step will be watched and critiqued. This is very sad but it is the way of the world. She is being seen as the modern-day Wallis Simpson who is taking a king so to speak away from his crown.
The see saw
Meghan and Harry gave up their rights as senior Royals and moved to the United States but they continue to be scrutinized as if they are still under the jurisdiction of the Queen. There is a fine line between their two worlds and obviously, it's believed that Meghan is crossing it and causing problems. The Duchess of Sussex has been speaking out on a number of issues such as voter suppression, the addictive nature of social media, and Black Lives Matter. This would simply not be in order if she were still living under the rule of the Queen. It seems to some that the Sussex family is trying to eat their cake and have it too, by living American but holding on to the Royal status. Harry and Meghan have given up their titles as senior Royals and are living in the United States. Some of their fans do not understand why those involved with Royal protocol don't give them a break. The Duke and Duchess are on a seesaw where they are damned if they do and damned if they don't. They will probably never live lives where they are simply left alone and will always be critiqued.
One man who is ushing conspiracies is Robert Lacey, who recently wrote a book titled Battle of Brothers. It's clear that this man is capitalizing on what he considers a rift between the sons of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. Lacey says that Prince William is concerned that Meghan will cause problems for "the Royal brand" AKA "the firm." There is no way to know if this is true or made up by this man to sell his book. He refers to the Duchess as "the actress" which indicates he has a problem with her former occupation. Everyone in the House of Windsor probably wishes Harry had married a blue blood of British origin, who would flow within the confines of the Royal world, but he did not. If Prince Harry were not the Queen's grandson, most people would probably have no problem with his wife. As a possible heir to the throne, the Duke of Sussex has been expected to conduct himself in a specific manner. Instead, he is living in LA and working for Sony making documentaries. The attitude by many seems to be that this is OK for a biracial divorced American actress, but not for the grandson of the Queen of England. This is the root of it all and no doubt will continue to cause conspiracists to blame Meghan Markle for in their opinion, ruining Harry's life. It would be nice if everyone just left this couple alone and allowed them to live their lives as they choose. Unfortunately, that would not sell books and make great magazine stories so they will continue to be scrutinized.

North Wind from The World (for now) on October 21, 2020:
The problem people have with Meghan Markle is that she continues to speak to the press while saying she wants privacy. Everybody in the U.K. just wants to forget about her and 'Call me Harry' but they will not let them.
They make statements that are liberal while still using the titles 'Duke and Duchess of Sussex' which links them directly to the monarchy.
While in South Africa, after seeing brutal conditions all around her and hearing of a terrible murder case, she went on about not being 'OK.' This offended a lot of people.
Much of the hate that is directed toward this couple comes from the things they themselves have said and done. One item that comes to mind is the lectures they gave about the environment while taking private jets everywhere. Another action is when thy chose to go to see The Lion King instead of spending time at a war veteran engagement that had been booked many months before. They have repeatedly shown the British people that they do not care about them.
If you read the comments section of any article written about them, you will see that people are begging them to please just go away and be private as they say they want to.
Robert Lacey's book actually favours Meghan Markle, claiming that the Royal family was not ready for Meghan Markle's rockstar status. Lacey himself works for Netflix. The same company who signed a huge deal with Meghan and Harry reportedly worth millions of dollars recently. In fact, Lacey's book puts Prince William in a bad light.
No doubt, Harry makes his own decisions. The way I read it, the British public, and many Canadians and Americans, all think that Meghan Markle is a narcissist who may be mentally ill. They believe that Harry always had problems and do not want him back either because of his actions.
Make no mistake, Meghan Markle is free to speak her mind, but only as Meghan Markle, not as the Duchess of Sussex. As they continue to use those titles, they represent Sussex and the monarchy. That is just a fact and their behaviour reflects badly on the Queen whom most British people hold in high regard. Many, many people want them to revoke their titles or be stripped of them.
If they continue to use the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, they can not make political statements without facing backlash. If they leave those titles behind and become ordinary citizens of America, who do not receive income from the Duchy/ Royal family, then no one will have a problem with anything they say.

I think that anything they do will always be scrutinised. The media choose a side and stick to it, if it suits them.

As a high profile couple, they will probably always be followed by reporters and have their words and actions critiqued, whether fair or not.

I think your last sentence says a lot. Cheryl. Meghan should have known that to marry a royal would be trying and Harry should have known that there would be problems too. I guess if they led a very quiet life it would be better for them so they wouldn't get so much criticizm. I agree that Meghan should be free to speak her mind but I don't think it helps her out.

The world is a global village, unlike in the time past. Now it is easy to monitor at a twinkling of an eye what people of high caliber speak. Maybe she should respect the throne and modify some of her words, there is an adage in Yoruba land that says, elder people would not utter words out quickly, though they seen what's happening (oju lagba nya, agba ki i ya enu (that is how it is said in Yoruba language)).
