Married at First Sight Season 10 Decision Day came after five couples met for the first time and got married at the altar. All five of the couples faced many problems during their short marriage. They were required to spend their last night apart so they could reflect on what they would tell the three experts on Decision Day on Wednesday, April 15, 2020.
Jessica and Austin
Jessica and Austin were the first ones to give their decision. Viewers had high hopes for them because they got along so well in the beginning. The smooth sailing didn't last the entire eight weeks.
The couple had their ups and downs. Jessica has two major concerns about Justin. She doesn't like the fact that he has to travel for work and they will not see each other every day. Secondly, Jessica has a problem with Austin not being able to say he loves her especially since she has told him that she loves him. Austin explained that he doesn't want to be pushed into saying it. He prefers to say it when he is ready to do so. Then it would be organic instead of something he is forced into saying as a response to what Jessica initiated.
When Pastor Calvin Roberson asked Jessica and Austin if they would rather stay married or get a divorce, Jessica was the one to say she wanted to stay married. Then Austin said he wanted to stay married because he loves Jessica.
All the experts were delighted with Jessica and Austin's decision. Pastor Cal admits that he sees a bright future for this young couple. Jessica says she is "beyond grateful."
Taylor and Brandon
Taylor and Brandon had a very volatile marriage. They broke up and got back together several times during their eight-week marriage. Taylor did not know if Brandon would show up on Decision Day. He was late, but he did show up. He spoke to the experts but not to his wife that he hadn't seen in a while. After a few minutes, Brandon asked to be excused to go to the bathroom.
Brandon and Taylor lived separately after the couples' retreat. He not only had problems with his wife, but he had problems with the production crew to the point of threatening them while they were filming.
When Dr. Viviana Coles asked if they wanted to stay married or get a divorce, Taylor was the first to speak. She said she would like to get a divorce. Brandon got up and left saying, "I'm over this."
Meka and Michael
If any marriage was based on lies, Meka and Michael's marriage would be at the top of the list. Michael constantly lied about his jobs and other things. The ought Meka has against Michael was that he was dishonest and lied a lot. She says she doesn't know what to believe.
When Pastor Cal asked Meka and Michael if they wanted to stay married or get a divorce, Meka was the first to speak. She said the last eight weeks have been really hard. There have just been too many deceptions. Meka said getting a divorce has been the biggest failure of her life.
Michael said he doesn't believe in divorce. Since he lies so much, that might or might not be true.
Katie and Derek
Katie and Derek had some challenges in their short marriage. Katie was not happy with the goals Derek has set for himself. While Derek went overboard trying to make the marriage work, Katie constantly found faults with him.
Katie said she felt "pretty torn" and "disappointed." She admitted that Derek is a really great guy and has been there for her during the marriage. She described the marriage as a "friendship" because they were not emotionally attached.
When Pastor Cal asked Katie and Derek if they wanted to stay married or get a divorce, Derek was the first to speak. He said he wanted to stay married to Katie because he believes he can fall in love with her. Katie said she knows Derek is committed to the marriage, but she has been struggling with making the decision. After giving viewers the impression that she was going to say she didn't want to stay married, she concluded that her heart was not in it, but she was not ready to give up yet. Therefore, she wanted to stay married to Derek. The experts said they believe in the couple.
Mindy and Zach
Zach never acted as though he was Mindy's husband. He never moved in with her. When he did stay in the apartment that had been provided for them, he slept in the spare bedroom.
Things didn't get any better when Mindy found out Zach had been talking to one of her friends on a regular basis. Eventually, Mindy and Zach decided to end their relationship early. She had a divorce party with her friends to celebrate breaking up with Zach before the series ended. The two of them were not on the last few episodes of Married at First Sight.
They showed up on Decision Day. Pastor Cal asked Zach if he got married on the series to be married or to be on television. Zach said he went through the process to actually be married. Mindy told Zach that he was not a good husband to her and a huge weight was lifted off of her after she separated from him.
After Decision Day
After the five couples gave their decision, they all met together except Brandon. The two couples who stayed married were congratulated by the others. The married couples shared their future plans. Most of couples promised to remain Married at First Sight friends.
As in the past, the couples will return to give an update concerning their decision. Those who said they wanted to stay married might have changed their minds by then. Those who said they wanted to divorce could also have changed their minds by the time we see them again next week.
According to the upcoming teaser, it seems that things have changed greatly with the married and unmarried couples. It was indicated that perhaps one of the married women cheated. Since Katie had not gotten over an ex-boyfriend when she married Derek, more than likely it was her instead of Jessica. Therefore, viewers have something exciting to look forward to during the finale of Married at First Sight on April 22, 2020.
