Lola Reacts Badly Regarding Summer and Kyle on 'the Young and the Restless'

Cheryl has been writing breaking news, spoiler alerts and recaps for daytime drama for several years and is a soap fan for five decades.

Here they go again.

Here they go again.

Lola has a change of heart

Lola has been sulking around Genoa City for the past few weeks. She finally ended things with Theo and now he is making her life miserable Perhaps he cannot help himself but if he keeps it up he will find himself all alone. On Tuesday, Kyle went to visit his ex and find out how she was doing now that the divorce is final. She told him she was OK but clearly she is not. As she and Kyle were talking, Summer was watching and Theo made disparaging remarks. He tried to make Summer believe that Kyle and Lola still wanted each other and that a divorce paper meant nothing. Summer jumped him and accused him of always being nasty and not being able to change. After Summer left, and Lola came out of the kitchen Theo tried to mess with her head. He told her that he could see she and Kyle still cared for one another and she should seize this moment to get her husband back. Lola clapped back as strongly as Summer and told Theo to get out of her life for good. She emphasized that she did not go through such a painful divorce only to try to reignite the spark between her and Kyle. Lola clearly was rattled that Theo sank so low and she no longer even wants to be his friend.

Lola goes to the dark side

One thing about soaps is that the writers like to ruin the good girls and now they have tarnished Lola. She came to Genoa City as a hard-working business owner. She kept telling Kyle she was not interested in romance and admitted that she was still a virgin. Against her reservations and twice breaking up with him, Lola gave herself to Kyle while he was married to Summer. Spoilers have said that the bond between these two is not broken and that Lola could be a threat to Summer. Based on her response to Theo this does not look like a possibility. If anyone is rattled however it is Summer. She let Kyle know that she did not like the fact that he went to check on Lola and she wonders if he is really over his ex. Kyle tried to reassure her but its clear Summer is not confident of his love. It does not seem like Lola's nature to try to win Kyle back after he hurt her so badly. Theo suggesting it just shows that he really has not changed at all. Lola seems distressed, depressed, and perplexed and there is no telling where her dark mood will lead her. Her marriage is over and she must constantly see Kyle and Summer together which reminds her of all she has lost. She went to bed with Theo and now realizes he was a mistake.

The moment of truth

Spoilers from Soap Dirt and Celeb Dirty Laundry both had said Lola would not sign the divorce papers but on Tuesday, it was clear that the marriage is over. Theo is still pushing people's buttons, Kyle feels guilty, and Summer is insecure. In the midst, Lola is hurting more than any of them. Last week some spoilers along with a number of viewers suggested that Noah Newman would be a good match for Ms.Rosales/Abbott. Now that she has burned the bridge to Theo, she only has Marriah in her corner. Noah and Lola got off to a bad start, but all of that could change. It's time The Young and the Restless gets Lola out of the kitchen and out of that uniform. She needs to let down her hair literally and figuratively. Lola needs to move on and not be stuck watching Summer and Kyle. It's bad enough that Theo is resorting to his old tricks of manipulation, and no one wants to see Lola go to the dark side, but she could. Although she made it clear she will not be trying to get her ex back, she might change her mind. She could flirt with Kyle and call on him, just as Summer did when Kola were married. Theo's antics and seeing Skyle all the time might push her over the edge. Hopefully, the writers will not take her in that direction. Perhaps Noah could be her saving grace. Stay tuned to find out.

I do not watch soap operas, but know that many people do. My mother-in-law and one of her friends watched the same one many years ago. If one of them would miss an episode, they would check with the other one to see what transpired.
