What I love about Parker
Parker is the girl that I would be if I was younger, blonder, prettier, and more atheletic... Crazier? No I am already way crazier than Parker. In fact my first favorite song that I remember was "Crazy", and the word keeps coming up in all of my most treasured songs, it has all of my life. My mom was "crazy" which they now try to call mentally ill... They try to medicate away the "special" in us. Let's just say, Parker might need medication, but for her the job is her drug. For what she does, medication just doesn't fit in with her job.
Parker is a thief. In times past this cat-burgling character has been portrayed in film and TV series over and over. It takes a really special mentality to be this kind of thief. She has to be smart, or she would get caught. She doesn't go into anything blind, she goes in knowing she will win. Sometimes half the getting there is knowing the destination. More than this she has to be flexible and not just physically flexible. She has to be mentally flexible enough to know when to take a different route, and whether a risk is worth taking. Parker cannot afford to gamble, she has to know. It is good to see that knowing smile on her face, it gives us confidence, even when she is leaping off of a high rise building.
In spite of all of this, her character does have it's impulsive moments, when the person who really lies inside (behind the tower walls that she has erected over the years) breaks free and shows her true nature. Parker has been used and hurt in ways that many can only imagine. Over the course of the series we see glimpses of her memories, and we want to protect her, and we want her to win. We are let in on the secrets little by little, and we hate whomever she hates, we love whomever she loves, and when, for a moment, she trusts someone enough to let her guard down, we know we can trust them too... We also decide that they better not betray her trust.
Oh and she likes money... A lot. Especially cash, it's almost sensual the way she looks at cash, or anything that's worth a lot of cash. Mostly though, it's cash... And Hardison, she likes Hardison.
Before Leverage Beth Riesgraf appears to have had several roles in television such as Natalie Duckworth on My Name is Earl and had a small part in Alvin and The Chipmunks, as a mother in the Supermarket. The irony is not lost on me. Such a brilliant talent is often overlooked until they find exactly the right role for the actor or actress to play. For Beth Reisgraf, that role is Parker on TNT's Leverage.
Beth Riesgraf was born just about the time I should have graduated High School, and she is an amazing photographer. She has taken photos of Christian Kane for his web site and I found an amazing set that came over her Twitter.
Finally someone I didn't just miss out on. Leverage is lucky to have gotten this talented actress before anyone realized how great she really is. She makes me smile, just seeing her and remembering her leaps of faith in Leverage. But you look, watch a video, or an interview, subscribe to her twitter account. She is generous with her joy. She clearly likes what she is doing.

Interview with Beth
As usual, the segment of the hub where I tell you what good Parker's character, or Beth Riesgraf can do you, aside from the entertainment aspect. Obviously she is now having this amazing life as a television star, living her dream. Wikipedia on her is a bit thin, as it is mostly written by people from sources that they can research and since there isn't much you can research, there isn't much there.
Beth Riesgraf didn't "scandalize" her way to the top. She did whatever it took to survive, and worked on her craft, taking the jobs she was offered, and trying for better all along. She (like Parker) knew where she was going, knowing your destination is half the battle of getting there.
Where are you going? Sometimes where you have been is of no consequence whatsoever when it comes to where you are going. The other part of that would also be to do what you love. Part of the problem with the global economic crisis is that people have become educated for the job they could make the most money in, rather than simply choosing to become that which they love.
I mean, I love to write, but I'm in school to be an electrician... Crazy!
When they told Beth Riesgraf that she was going to do her own stunts for Leverage, she might have thought that sounded crazy, but she decided to take a leap of faith. I mean it was an acting job, and acting is what she loves.
Current Appearance schedule
Beth Riesgraf will be sitting on the Leverage Panel at Comic Con, this Saturday July 24th, along with Timothy Hutton, Christian Kane, and Aldis Hodge, among others from the Leverage staff.

Pamela, you are so sweet, coming to my emotional rescue, as I was not sure if this would go completely unnoticed. I love Leverage, and I do love Parker. I was amazed that Beth Riesgraf has flown under the radar for so long with just small parts in films.

Hey Faybe, I had to stop by and check out the hub on her. She is an awesome character, and now to find out she did most of her own stunts, like jumping of a 60 story building, only being attached by a harness is so cool. You did a wonderful job on the hub and I have bookmarked it. Thank you. :)
