Jamie Webster is a 26 year old Liverpudlian who over the last 3 years has been living his dream as a musician. Jamie Webster began singing Liverpool songs during the 2012/13 season after acknowledging the confidence he had gained from singing week on week at the match. Jamie started with BOSS Nights after singing in different pubs around the city of Liverpool.
Webster was working as an electrician in 2018 when he travelled to America to watch Liverpool in their preseason tour. He played a small pub in America before a game and was surprised by the Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp inbetween his songs. The singer songwriter has developed a good relationship with the reds manager over the recent years as Klopp often refers to Webster and sent him a video message when he released his album earlier this year.
Before Liverpool played Torino in a preseason friendly at Anfield, Jamie played a a set in Chavasse Park in Liverpool One. This was just weeks after he had played in Shevchenko Park in Kyiv before Liverpool played Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League Final. He also played at the UEFA Champions League Final the year later when Liverpool met Tottenham in Madrid. The victory on that day also saw Liverpool enter the Club World Cup in Qatar where Jamie played again.
Jamie started releasing his own singles at the start of 2020 and set his eyes on releasing his album in August. Webster released ‘Weekend In Paradise‘ after playing it during most gigs and in most pubs. This song went onto reach number 8 in the ITunes charts and number 1 in the singer songwriter charts. The Liverpudlian then went on to release ‘Living for Yesterday’ which he released a few days before his sold out tour in Liverpool, London and Dublin.
Webster then planned to release ‘This Place‘ in sync with Liverpool winning the league but due to the COVID-19 lockdown he was unable to and this saw an early realease of ‘Grinding the Gears’ and ‘Somethings Gotta Give’. He was then able to create the video after the Premier League restart and the night Liverpool beat Chelsea 5-3 Jamie was suprised to find out that his video would end up being used on Sky Sport’s montage and ‘This Place‘ would become the soundtrack to Liverpool‘s title lifting celebrations.
On the 21st of August Jamie’s debut album was released. ‘We Get By’ was released and he was support by not just Liverpool fans but so many more!
Jamie Webster provided Liverpool with another top class musician and is seen as a hero to many people.
