10 Great comedy/crime films following the stories of a variety of characters of London's criminal underworld.

What the 'Lock, Stock' is it all about?

The seven-part 'Lock, Stock' spin-off episodes were a made-for-television series, co-written and created by Guy Ritchie after the initial success of the 1998 film, 'Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels'.

The seven episodes (although not actual sequels) follow a group of four close pals who run 'The Lock', a pub in East London.

In each episode, the lads get involved in various criminal business ventures while doing business with all the different ethnicities of petty criminals, crooks and hardened gangsters of London's criminal underworld.

Along with the film sequels, I have included the three films with similar themes and style as the 'Lock, Stock...' spin-off series. Snatch, Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels, and RocknRolla.

The following top 10 London Gangster Films: Contains action, adventure, violence, nudity, drugs and alcohol use — foul language and sexual content.

The films have plot-twists at every turn, and the mayhem and comical errors that play-out in each film are priceless.

Grab a mug of rosy Lee (tea), and sit back and enjoy the Lock, Stock criminality and comedy at its best.

1. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels'' is like Tarantino crossed with the Marx Brothers

— Critic reviews

Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, was released in August 1998. Written and directed by Guy Ritchie and produced by Matthew Vaughn. The cast includes; Jason Flemyng as Tom. Dexter Fletcher as Soap. When one of the lads loses a £500.000 bet to a powerful crime boss, two antique guns are needed to help pay off the debt or leave some people brown bread (dead). This black comedy crime film is full of petty criminals, gangsters, and loan sharks trying to hustle their way through their criminal way of life without double-crossing or stepping on anyone's toes.

2. Snatch

Snatch is perfect in all its categories: credits, soundtrack, production, casting, writing, photography, editing, acting, and direction. 10/10

4. Lock, Stock...And 200 Smoking Kalashnikov's

The press hasn't exactly loved this, but I liked it even more than the film. This script was funny and pacy.

Another great film that features gangsters, a madam of a local brothel, two Dutch druggies, a group of Spaniards, and a jam jar (car) full of money floating around.
