Finneas, Billie Eilish Pen 4*Town Songs For 'Turning Red'
Turning Red, now streaming on Disney+, Pixar's new coming-of-age film featuring Meilin, played by Rosalie Chang, who begins to magically change form to that of a red panda "whenever she's excited or stressed," as featured with Pop Buzz, is leaving a trail of warm and positive reviews in the wake of its premiere.
The family film, which carries a 95 percent rating with Rotten Tomatoes, features music from the fictional boy band 4*Town, who listeners are comparing to Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC. The film is set in 2002. Pop Buzz called the new songs "iconic."
The songs played by 4*Town, Nobody Like U, U Know What's Up, and 1 True Love, were written by brother and sister Finneas and Billie Eilish. Sadly, 4*Town isn't a real band and there are no apparent plans for their continuation.
"Robaire" is described as being the lead singer of 4*Town. He is played by "Disney icon" Jordan Fisher, who is known for appearing in Teen Beach movies and To All The Boys I've Loved Before as John Ambrose. People recently featured Jordan and wife Ellie as they prepare for a new baby, quoting the singer, "We're beyond excited."

"Tae Young" is voiced by "actor and editor" Grayson Villanueva, who is also known for appearing in Modern Family and competing and singing in The Christmas Caroler Challenge, as featured with IMDb, where the performance of Christmas carolers is adjudicated by a panel of judges. 'Turning Red': First-Time Acting Role For Rosalie Chang
Playing "Meilin" in Turning Red is Chinese-American actress Rosalie Chiang. The part is her first experience in a motion picture, Rosalie is said to have auditioned via her mother's smartphone.
The protagonist of the animated family movie must perform a ritual when 4*Town performs in her hometown to stop the curse on her family that causes her, when she is anxious, to transform into a red-colored panda.
Digital Spy calls Turning Red an "absolute triumph" and states that Meilin is "voiced brilliantly" by Rosalie Chiang and praises that film's "intricate and detailed visuals" and "gorgeous blend of animation styles."
"It’s a side of teen girls that you never get to see," Turning Red's director, Domee Shi, was quoted by the New York Times with regard to the film's youth-oriented themes. "We are just as awkward and sweaty and lusty and excited as any boy."
Shi is noted for being the first woman to direct a Pixar short, Bao, which went on to win a Best-Animated-Short Academy Award. The positive reviews received by this latest "heartfelt and entertaining" full-length feature make it one of Shi and Pixar's best-received offerings to date.
