30 Terrific Interviews with Child Actors

I work in modeling and film production and like to share insights into both businesses.

Kids in Movies

Kid actors bring innocence, unreserved excitement, and honesty to the film industry. Movies like Harry Potter, Dolphin Tale, Despicable Me, A Quiet Place, Christopher Robin, The Grinch, and Mary Poppins Returns are heartfelt because of the kid actors.

Watch these interviews, and you will see how sincere and excited they are to talk about working. It's not rehearsed or canned — it's from the heart.

Joel Dawson

Joel Dawson is so cute in this interview. It is short but sweet.

The second video is of him at the European premiere of Mary Poppins Returns. His hair is in his eyes, and he is trying so hard to tell us about the premiere, adorable.

Nathanael Saleh

Nathanael Saleh plays John Banks in Mary Poppins Returns. He seems genuine but cute at the same time.

In the second interview at the European premiere, his hair looks different, and he is more grown-up but just as cute.

Pixie Davies

Pixie Davies plays Annabel Banks. She talks about dancing and how wonderful it was to work on the movie.

The second interview with her at the European premiere so she looks more grown-up. She looks like she could be Emma Stone's or Shailene Woodley's daughter or younger sister.

Joel Dawson & Pixie Davies

The premiere interview shows how much Pixie Davies has grown up. Joel Dawson is such a handsome little guy.

Cameron Seely

Cameron Seely is beautiful and articulates so well. She also starred in The Greatest Showman with Hugh Jackman.

In the second video, she is at the world premiere. She looks beautiful and, of course, excited.

Julianna Gamiz & Gustavo Quiroz

These two kid actors are adorable and try to articulate the story and their roles in the movie Instant Family.

Jibrail Nantambu

He'll steal your heart in 36 seconds. Fans post nothing but positive feedback about Jibrail's interview, saying, "He's funny" and "Adorable." But, he stars in the horror movie Halloween.

Owen Vaccaro

Owen Vaccaro is a bright and talented kid. Watch the two short interviews as he talks about The House with a Clock in Its Walls. His personality shines, and it's obvious he likes acting in movies.

Jacob Tremblay

Jacob Tremblay is such a cool kid. He articulates so well. He also starred in Room, which is a great movie to see. I own it because Brie Larson, who won the Oscar for her role in this movie, is from my hometown.

TJ Wright

He's so cute. TJ Wright looks confident during the Red Carpet soundbites at the Toronto International Film Festival for the movie The Hate U Give. The movie is profound and topical to the current social scene between police officers and African-Americans.

The second video of TJ is about a minute and a half. He talks about working with the actors and crew.

Sydney Kowalske

In Sydney's interview about her role in Blue Bayou, she talks about her audition process to land the role. In fact, she talks about filming in New Orleans and working with the director and actor, Justin Chon. She also talks about working with actress Alicia Vikander, sharing their love for ballet.

Isabella Sermon

Isabella Sermon's interview is less than a minute, but she shines. She plays
Maisie Lockwood in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Her first major movie, and she is good at playing Jame Cromwell's (Benjamin Lockwood) granddaughter.

Millicent Simmonds

Millicent Simmonds starred in Wonderstruck and A Quiet Place. The featurette interviews her about her starring role in Wonderstruck. Millicent is deaf, but I commend everyone in her family for learning ASL (sign language). She talks about using ASL and how her mother helps her. The clip pulled my heartstrings.

She seems like a friend because she is a beautiful person. She is so confident and an inspiration for kids all over the world.

Millicent Simmonds & Noah Jupe

Co-written and directed by John Krasinski, A Quiet Place teams Krasinski and his wife Emly Blunt in the supernatural movie. Two kid actors, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe play with their children.

Watching the interview, I am impressed with how well they articulated the process of making the movie. Even though Millicent is deaf, she expresses herself so beautifully and lovingly. They care for each other very much.

In the second interview, they are so mature for their ages. The rapport and appreciation they share for each other are so strong.

They discuss how they created their relationship as a family in the movie. I like watching this interview because they talk about moviemaking and working with John Krasinski and Emily Blunt.

Noah Jupe

Noah is bright, and I love his accent. He talks about being on the set with Millicent, John Krasinski, and Emily Blunt.

Noah looks different from all the other interviews. His eyes light up when he talks about working with Millicent on set. He also talks about Emily and John. They sound like such incredible people.

Included is the interview of Noah on the set of Ford v Ferrari. It is impressive to see how well he articulates his character and the story.

Millicent Simmonds

Millicent uses ASL to answer the questions on the red carpet. She is intelligent and confident. Her interviews are promising and hopeful.

Bronte Carmichael

Having the name of a classical writer, Bronte Carmichael is an elegant young girl. She speaks highly of acting with Piglet in Christopher Robin. She is also a lucky girl because she works opposite Ewan McGregor.

I am in awe when she says the word "adults" as she explains what they will like about the movie. All in all, it is a short interview, but she is a gem.

Adriana Costine

Adriana Costine stars in Daddy's Home and Daddy's Home 2. Both movies take place during Christmas. The comedies star Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, John Cena, and Linda Cardellini. Mel Gibson and John Lithgow join the cast in Daddy's Home 2, the sequel.

In the interview with Adriana, she captures my heart. She's articulate and funny. She is adorable when she talks about being in the snow for the first time. Several kids have left positive comments on my YouTube Channel where this interview is playing.

Owen Vaccaro

The red carpet interview with Owen Vaccaro shows facial expressions of how much energy he can produce. By his description, I can see him dancing around and being ecstatic because he gets to star in another Daddy's Home movie.

Scarlett Estevez

In this interview, I find out how the kid actors got along with Will Ferrell and Mel Gibson on the set. Scarlett Estevez has so much energy and passion for the movie.

Watching her come up with the story about Mel Gibson is so precious. Owen is so excited about her telling the story, too. It is so much fun to watch. It's hard to believe this short interview was uplifting and made my day brighter.

Nev Scharrel

She is so adorable, and her laugh is contagious. I felt great after watching this interview because Nev Scharrel is so lovable and all-around fun.

Co-directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, the movie begins where the second Despicable Me movie ended. Gru ends up experiencing an identity crisis. Then, a stranger arrives and tells Gru he has a twin brother. His twin brother wants to be like him and tries very hard to be like him. It's cute and kind of funny. Nev does a great job being the voice of Agnes.

Julia Roberts & Jacob Tremblay

Even though Julia Roberts is in it with Jacob Tremblay, who plays Auggie, I included this video. Notice how he adores and respects Julia.

Finn Wolfhard, Wyatt Oleff & Chosen Jacobs

They clearly explain who their characters are and what the story covers. It's fun watching them converse with each other talking about the movie.

Ishmael "IshDARR" Ali

He plays "Freaky" Steve Roussell in the biopic White Boy Rick. He is a cute adorable kid but a seasoned teenager who played a challenging role.

RJ Cyler

RJ Cyler talks about his character Rudell "Boo" Curry. The movie is about drug dealing, and a 14-year-old boy receives a life sentence for dealing with drugs.

Caleel Harris

Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween puts a new twist on Halloween, and Caleel Harris explains the story so well.

He is at the world premiere in the second interview with a different haircut. He tells us about the book that started the movie franchise.

Jeremy Ray Taylor

Jeremy articulates the story and gets philosophical about the motive of Slappy. It's so cute to hear how he explains.

In the second interview, he is at the premiere, and he is excited and caught up in the whole event. He is such a little man, so mature for his age.

Madison Iseman

Madison Iseman played the oldest of the bunch of kids in Goosebumps 2. Haunted Halloween.

Rhianna Dorris

Rhianna played Kaye in the British movie The Kid Who Would Be King. I love listening to her accent.

Kid Movie Stars

Kid actors eventually grow up and become adult actors if they choose to remain in the profession. We have these interviews to watch and remember them when they were young and adorably funny.

Harold, Thank you for watching these interviews with kid actors. I agree. They are amazing kids. I am sure they feel the pressure but I hope their parents or guardians help them with anything that can cause stress. All in all, these kids seem very balanced and enjoy working in the industry.

Harold on November 18, 2018:

Interview with kid actors is so interesting. Millicent is my favorite. She's and Old Soul.

These kids seem like little adults. It must take a very special kid to become a movie star. The pressure alone must be stressful. I wonder how they manage.
