Cameron Mathison was born on August 25, 1969, in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. He received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec in 1993.
After graduating from college, Cameron began working as a model and getting assignments to do commercials in Canada, Europe, and the United States. That was the springboard for him to take acting classes.
Acting Before Being on the Hallmark Channel
In December 1997, Mathison got the role of playing Ryan Lavery on All My Children on ABC. He kept that job until 2011. Cameron must love acting in soap operas because in 2021, he began acting in another soap opera. He now has the role of Drew Cain on ABC's General Hospital.

Cameron Has Moved Over to GAC
Cameron and dozens of other longtime Hallmark actors have moved over to Great America Channel (GAC). He and Debbie Matenopoulos hosted Home & Family on the Hallmark Channel until that segment was canceled earlier this year.
Cameron and Debbie hosted Welcome to Great American Christmas on October 24, 2021, on the newly rebranded network. Cameron's first movie on GAC was Secret Santa with Jennie Garth that premiered on November 20, 2021.

Personal Life
The actor was voted one of America’s 100 most eligible bachelors in People Magazine in June 2000. In 2002, he was no longer an eligible bachelor. That's because he married model Vanessa Marie Arevalo on July 27, 2002.
Cameron and Vanessa have a son named Lucas Arthur who was born on April 20, 2003, and a daughter named Leila Emmanuelle who was born on July 7, 2006.
