Film Review: Plan 9 from Outer Space

Ed Wood's "Plan 9 from Outer Space," left him with the title of the worse director of all time that later became a cult classic. The film tells the story of a bunch of aliens who arrive on Earth in order to bring the dead back to life which they call "Plan 9," in order to stop humans from creating a weapon that could destroy the universe. By starting a crisis, the aliens hope that humans will listen to them or else they will destroy them with their army of the dead.

During filming, director Ed Wood created sets using cardboard and a model kit for the UFO which look absolutely ridiculous. The film is filled with several errors including a scene in the cockpit of a plane where the shadow of a boom mike is clearly visible and after Bela Lugosi died after shooting his scene you can clearly see that when his character hides his face that it is really a body double. Much of the dialogue in the film is absolutely ridiculous including a scene in the film where the police are investigating a murder and make the dumb observation that someone was behind the murder. You can easily tell how incompetent Ed Wood is when he made "Plan 9 from Outer Space," and how its shortcuts led to an unintentionally funny movie.
