Introduction...

Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness was announced in 2019 at Sandiego Comic-Con, and I’mma be honest I wasn’t all that hyped for it. Mainly because I didn’t know what to expect, and given the identity politics the comics were pushing, I feared that would leak into the films. Especially given how Captain Marvel and Black Widow turned out, which lessened my hopes for this being good. And based on the trailer, we won’t get that, or probably won’t get much of. Well given that Sam Raimi directed this, that’s to be expected.

The premise...

The film picks up after SpiderMan:No Way Home after Doctor Strange accidentally opened up the multiverse. And with Wanda’s aid, Strange has to restore the boundaries between the multiverse. Well he has to do this while clearing his name.

Is eyes are red, is that a good thing? Oh this is a fan poster... Are the red eyes a good thing...?

Final Thoughts...

Honestly after the Thanos Saga of the MCU, I didn’t expect much from the MCU films going forward. Yet had someone told me Sam Raimi would be directing this, I’d have been put at ease. Because given Ramie’s Evil Dead series, he’s a good fit for the mind bending LoveCraftian aesthetics Doctor Strange tends to have. So my fingers are crossed for it being a good film. Doctor Strange:Multiverse of Madness hits theaters May 6th 2022, and based on what I’ve seen there’s a bit of hype for it.
