Awesome Disney Fan Art

Fan Art is a type of artwork that is inspired by a story or character that was created by someone other than the one creating the art. In simple and obvious terms, it’s art created by a fan. For example, JK Rowling created Harry Potter, and some artist, other than the author of the series, could create art inspired by the characters of the very popular novel. This type of art is very entertaining. Artists have different points of views and they have the liberty to create their favorite characters in any way they feel like. There is Fan Art about everything. You name it, from popular movies like Star Wars, to video games like Super Mario Brothers, from popular books like the aforementioned Harry Potter, to television shows like House. And even my all time favorite Fan Art, Disney! Being a huge supporter of Fan Art, I will give a few of what I consider to be the best Disney Fan Art that I have stumbled upon. The Fan Art that I have posted on this Hub has the permission of the artist. So feel free to enjoy their art and support them by going into their pages and viewing their magnificent art!

Disney Princesses

Of course everyone has their favorite type of Disney Fan Art. Most people like to draw the iconic Disney princesses. There are so many to choose from. From Snow White to Cinderella, from Ariel to Belle, from Tiana to Rapunzel, you pick your favorite. jbsdesigns decided to draw some of my favorite Disney girls (although not all of them princesses). jbdesigns art includes Tiana, Snow White, Mulan, Belle, Rapunzel, Jane and Megara. Samantha Erdini decided to do a Fan Art of the soon to be newest Disney princess, Princess Merida, from the upcoming Disney movie Brave.

Disney Princes

And let’s not forget the princes, who are somewhat underappreciated when it comes to Fan Art. Although always gorgeous, the Disney princes are rarely drawn, with exception of the famous slashes, like Aladdin/Jasmine or Prince Eric/Ariel. The talented jimbopunk has decided to take on the task of drawing some of the iconic princes. She even drew Prince Phillip, from the classic Disney movie Sleeping Beauty , in a sort of vulnerable position for Aurora to play a prank on him! And for something a little more risque.. please check out davidkawena 's deviantART page for his collection of Disney Heroes... like you've never seen them before!!!

The Sidekicks and Villains

And how about the Sidekicks and Villains? The sidekicks are rarely drawn on their own. They mostly appear with the hero or heroine, like Abu with Aladdin or Flounder with Ariel. But although not the most popular of characters, some artist still adore them and can still find the time to dedicate some of their art to them. TajiaVigilia decided to interpret Lumiere with Babette in this charming Fan Art (also this would be consider a slash). And pictured below, we can see some sidekicks drawn in one of the cutest styles: Chibies!!! Here David Gilson , AKA princekido , depicts Ariel's sidekicks in Little Mermaid, Flounder and Sebastian, as chibies in his collection of Disney Chibies.

Speaking of slashes, Slash Fan Art depicts a romantic relationship between to characters. Sometimes this art is the main couple of the movie, just like Trounced here sweetly showed in her Slash Fan Art with Belle and the "Beast". But sometimes they are unlikely couples for example, form Alice in Wonderland, Alice and the Mad Hatter. In this drawing, Tell-Me-Lies tenderly shows the "relationship" between these two characters.

Their own Unique Style...

Other than the classic portrayal of the Disney characters, Fan Art gives the freedom to show your own point of view. The artist could create them in unique styles. MecaniqueFairy incorporates the steampunk style to her favorite Disney characters. Jeffrey Thomas’s collection Twisted Princesses is a little bit darker. His princesses are for use of a better word twisted!! Rocketcica’s art are more like inside jokes into the life of the princesses. Her collection is called What If and in her art you can see little jokes like What if the Prince found Sleeping Beauty drooling and wearing rolls in her hair and What if Jasmine wore a wig!

Maybe you'd noticed that all of the art that I've included in this Hub is from the magnificent website deviantART. This website is an online community that showcasts various forms of user-made artwork. The website includes different types of art, like photography, digital art, tradition art, literature, Flash, filmmaking and even skins for applications. This is a great website and you can find just about anything!

PS: Although I'm not very good and just in case anyone is interested, I have a deviantART account.

Excellent hub these pictures are amazing! I especially love the snow white one, very creepy and awesome. The flounder and Sebastian one is cute, and the one with princess jasmine combing out her "wig" is hilarious. Thank you for sharing all of this. Voting up :)
