Lady Gaga is all about performing and a big part of this is her dance style. Don't be fooled, with a bit of video editing, flashy colors, and the way her dancers are synchronized with Gaga, her dance moves can easily look dramatic. While Lady Gaga really is an amazing dancer, her dances are actually quite simple and easy to learn!
So you want to learn how to dance like Lady Gaga? Watching hours of videos trying to mimic her steps can get you started, but many Lady Gaga music videos flash from scene to scene so it's easy to miss parts of the dance routine. This is why you'll want to focus on learning signature Gaga moves to fill in any gaps in her music videos.
Another option is to use Lady Gaga dance tutorials which allow you to see the full dance (and also helps you with learning those signature moves.)
Lady Gaga's Signature Choreography
An important thing to remember about Lady Gaga's dance moves is that she goes all out. Every move she makes is big and full of attitude. This can require a lot of confidence, but with some practice, you can become more comfortable with Gaga-style dance moves.
Lady Gaga also uses a few small movements that many fans recognize as being her moves. For example, she has a "monster" claw-like movement that she uses in many of her dances. Another move she uses is the heart shape she makes with her hands. You can see an example of the claw move in her "Bad Romance" music video and the heart shape move in the "Judas" video.
A great effect that Lady Gaga adds is having her other dancers do the same moves all in unison. When a performer can pull this off (and Lady Gaga does, time and time again,) it can really captivate an audience. Choreography is definitely Lady Gaga's strong suit!
The perfect way to really nail down Lady Gaga performances is to check out dance tutorials that are specific to Lady Gaga songs. Have a favorite Lady Gaga music video? Chances are that there is a dance tutorial that you like that can show you how to duplicate the moves in your favorite Lady Gaga video.
Poker Face Dance Tutorial
The dance to Poker Face isn't shown very much in Lady Gaga's video, so the dancer who will be showing you how to do her moves for this song drew the moves from Lady Gaga's live performances of this song.
Many tutorials add made-up dance moves using Lady Gaga's dance style, but you have to appreciate the fact that dancers like this one, looked for dance moves from other Gaga "Poker Face" performances to put together an authentic dance.
Paparazzi Dance Tutorial
The "Paparazzi" dance is barely in Lady Gaga's music video for the song, if at all. All dances for this song were taken from live Lady Gaga performances. Unlike the dancer for the "Poker Face" tutorial, the girl in the Paparazzi tutorial, is not in a professional studio and claims she is not a professional. That said, I think she does a fantastic job at explaining the dance moves and is a great dancer.
The dancer in this tutorial also does this song backward to make it easier for you, her student, to duplicate her moves.
Bad Romance Dance Tutorial
The dancer in this tutorial, Marissa (Danceislife9 on YouTube), got the dance moves from Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" video, which has a large amount of dancing in it. She also got some of the dance moves from Lady Gaga's live performances of the song to make up for any gaps in the video.
Judas Dance Tutorial
This tutorial, another great lesson from Marissa, shows the chorus and the breakdown section from Lady Gaga's hit song, "Judas." This one is a personal favorite and is one that I have been practicing. It's fun to learn to show off to friends or even just as a workout! The tune to Judas is catchy and the dance is a blast (plus it looks amazing), making this dance a lot of fun!
Born This Way Dance Tutorial
The tutorial to "Born This Way" is split up into two parts, but it's really worth the effort. The song is incredibly uplifting and the dance is pretty impressive. This is yet another video from Danceislife9, as she has some of the best dance tutorials.
Alejandro Dance Tutorial
"Alejandro" is a fantastic Gaga song and almost an even better dance. If you're aiming to learn a number of Lady Gaga dance, this high-energy dance is a must in your repertoire. The dancer in this video first shows you all the dance moves and then finishes off the video by putting together all the moves to "Alejandro" to show you how each move flows together.
Telephone Dance Tutorial
"Telephone", one of Lady Gaga's chart-topping hits, is known for its amazing dance. This is a quick dance requiring a lot of hopping, arm motions, and footwork, but is a blast to learn! As the choreography to "Telephone" will take a while to learn, it's perfect for a great daily exercise routine that will pay off with some fabulous dance moves!
Lady Gaga has really brought choreographed dance back onto the scene with her confidence and trademark moves. By learning her dance moves and sharing them with others, you are spreading the love of dance.
Perfecting the Dance
A great way to make learning Lady Gaga's dance moves fun is to get your friends involved. The more the merrier!
What makes Lady Gaga's dances extra flashy and fun are all her dancers, so even if your friends are at a different dancing level as you, be sure to include them! It's a great way to learn from each other and have a blast!
For some extra flare, dress up in the craziest outfits you can come up with for dance practice -- even if it's not really in Lady Gaga style!
Lady Gaga's dance routines are a great way to get started in learning to dance. If you enjoy dancing, consider learning to dance at a nearby dance studio. You'd be surprised by how little learning in a dance studio really costs and how fun it really can be!
Dance studios welcome beginners of many different age groups, so don't be afraid to try it out simply because you're "not good enough" or you're "too old to dance," I didn't start taking dance lessons until I was twenty-four!

What fun. I don't know much about the Gaga lady except I find her music annoying. After reading this hub and looking at the videos now I want to see her videos. Thanks for taking the time to share! Smile!

@Doctor Kristy, all you can do is try! If you draw the curtains, stand in front of your computer, try these moves, and it's an epic failure, nobody has to know! On the other hand, if you keep trying, it's a great way to build up your confidence... while toning some muscles! Go for it. :P Let me know how it goes!

This is a very well put together hub! I'm not going to at the moment (because I'm in public), but I'm excited because now when I get home I'll try some of these. ("Try" being the key word. I'm a terrible dancer.) :)
