Cosby Kids Have Moved On

The Cosby Show was a TV comedy that ran for eight seasons from 1984 to 1992 and featured the African-American Huxtable family with five children living in Brooklyn. The head of the clan was Cliff, portrayed by comedian Bill Cosby. Actress Phylicia Rashad played his wife, Clair.

The talented young actors who played the Huxtable children have grown up and moved on. Let's take a look at the actors and where they are now.

Sabrina LeBeauf

Oldest Daughter, Sondra

The role of Sondra was portrayed by Sabrina LeBeauf, a beautiful young woman who was only 10 years younger than the actress who played her mother. She auditioned against young actress Whitney Houston for the part but was given the winning nod by Bill Cosby despite the closeness in age of LeBeauf and Rashad.

She performs frequently with the Shakespeare Theater Company in Washington, DC. LeBeauf appeared as a guest star on two episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation as Ensign Giusti in "Gambit, Part I and II". She also did the voice over for the character Norma Bindlebeep in the animated television series Fatherhood.

LeBeauf, whose beauty reflects her Louisiana Creole descent, was born in New Orleans in 1958. She is divorced and has no children.

Lisa Bonet

Daughter Denise

The role of Denise was played by actress Lisa Bonet. She left the series in 1987 to star in a spin off comedy, A Different World, which was about Denise in college. She returned to the Cosby Show, only to get fired because of being late to work almost daily and unprofessional behavior.

She appeared in several made for TV movies and had roles in the movies High Fidelity and Biker Boyz. Some have described her career as lackluster.

Bonet was born in 1967 and is married to actor Jason Momoa. She is the mother of actress Zoe Kravitz with first husband, singer Lenny Kravitz, and has two children with Momoa.

Although she still uses the name Lisa Bonet professionally, she has legally changed her name to Lilakoi Moon.

Warner performs as a bass player with the jazz band "Miles Long". They have opened for several notable acts, including the late Luther Vandross.

Born in 1970, Warner is single but had a long relationship with actress Michelle Thomas who played his girlfriend, Justine, on the Cosby Show. Thomas died in 1998. He is currently dating actress Regina King.

Viewers watched her grow into a beautiful young woman from a busybody who was always fighting with her brother and younger sister.

After the finale, she continued her television acting career. She performed roles in two Lifetime Network programs, Strong Medicine and South of Nowhere. In the mid 1990's, she hosted her own daytime talk show, The Tempestt Bledsoe Show. She also had a recurring role on The Practice. In the 2012/2013 season, she starred in a NBC comedy, Guys with Kids.

Bledsoe was born in 1973 and has a degree in Finance, in addition to her acting education. She is single but has had a relationship for over 20 years with actor Darryl M. Bell.

Youngest Daughter, Rudy - All Grown Up!

Keshia Knight Pulliam was the youngest child, Rudy. She was only 5 years old when the show premiered.

In 1986, she became the youngest actress ever to be nominated for an Emmy award in the best supporting actress category in recognition of her work on the Cosby Show. She was up against some very stiff competition and lost the award to Rhea Perlman of Cheers.

Polls, recent as well as during the heyday of the show, have shown that Rudy was voted the favorite character by viewers.

After the show ended, her family moved to Virginia where she finished school. She performed in several reality shows such as Fear Factor and The Weakest Link. She had a part in the movie Beauty Shop with Queen Latifah and played Miranda in the television show Tyler Perry's House of Payne.

Keshia has formed a non-profit organization, Kamp Kizzy, a summer day camp program for girls who are 11 to 16 years old.

Born in 1979, she married former professional football player, Edgar Hartwell, in January 2016. In July 2016, she announced they were expecting their first child. A week later, Hartwell filed for divorce. In January 2017, she gave birth to a daughter, Ella Grace.
