Brittany Nicole is a singer/songwriter who hails from Tulare, California and has a new single out, "Play The Fool (For Love)".
With her release, Brittany is on a quest to become one of the music industry’s newest professional artists with a style of music that bridges the 80’s & 90’s Funk & Soul groups like The SOS Band and Kool and the Gang, to today’s sounds from such artists as, Cardi B, Bruno Mars, and Jennifer Lopez, to name a few.
Born In Tulare CA, on Oct. 3, 1985, Brittany Nicole attended Tulare Western High school where she graduated and would go on to college for medical billing/coding tech. But, by the time Brittany arrived in college, she knew that her heart was pounding to the rhythm and beats of music, something she had been preparing herself for since she began singing at just 3 years of age.
Of course, growing up in a musically gifted family where her mother and uncle were singers in their own band was a big influence on Brittany as a child. She would perform with them during their sets at public park show events, and it was during that time that she knew she wanted to become a singer professionally, because of what they did musically.
Brittany began singing in many talent shows and events locally and around the state of California, where she would perform a mix of everything from Old School, 80's & 90's music, Classic Rock, R&B, Spanish and even Christian music.
Throughout Brittany’s teen years her vocals had matured enough for her to start doing a solo act wherever she could. From family and friends events, birthday parties, graduation parties, Weddings, Car shows, funerals, and in church, Brittany took every opportunity to perform.
The late Tejano & Pop superstar, Selena Quintanilla, who some have compared Brittany to, would be perhaps Brittany’s biggest music influence outside of her parents. She would listen to Selena always at home on the radio, or at school events, and then when she performed, she would always cover Selena’s music, even to this day. “Selena was such an inspiration to me, and to many Latinos because of her positive style and image. She was my role model. I dreamed to one day be as successful as she was. I myself don’t speak spanish but I somehow would learn it when it came to a song and I’d sing it” says Brittany.
In her early 20’s, Brittany joined a few bands as lead singer. Local bands like Class Action, The Valley Cats, and the Classic All Stars, afforded Brittany a way to vibe with audiences and hone her stage skills and presence as a singer and performer.
Performing with these bands also allowed Brittany to play with some amazing musicians, and do big corporate show events for charity fundraisers such as, Valley Children's Hospital, Marjorie Mason (against domestic violence), Bets for Pets (CCSPCA fundraiser), Safari Night (at the Fresno Zoo), 4th of July Naval Air Base Celebration (in Lemoore Ca), Sweethearts Ball (down syndrome association of Central Ca), Gropetti Automotive Private Halloween/Christmas event. She has also performed at weddings and at Casinos.
And her television appearances as a performer have included Great Day Fox 26, ABC Action News, and radio Interviews on KUHS Denver CO, Tejano Radio Network, The Duck- Manny In The Morning Show 93.9, KCAA radio with Angel baby ( in Riverside), Mega oldies 97.9 With Noddy Roddy (in Fresno CA), to name a few.
Now ready to launch her professional solo career with her management team, Executive Producer & CEO of Round 2 Entertainment Records, LLC in Riverside, California, Charlie Perez, and Manager, Monibee Henley, "Play The Fool (For Love") from Producer/Songwriter, Carlos Guillen, of La Cima Music out of Santa Barbara, CA. is a big factor in Brittany's quest to take her place as one of the music industry's bright new stars. She certainly is off to a good start.
Q&A with Brittany Nicole
Let me first thank you Brittany for taking the time-out of your busy schedule to answer a few questions and let our readers learn more about you and your music.
RW) I understand that you come from a musically gifted family, so it seems like you were destined to go into the music business. Who were first influences with music as a child growing up, and how old were you when you realized you had a gift for music?
BN) My first influences would be my Uncle. Since I was little, and still to this day, we sing together, practice together, and learn duets. We both have a passion for music and I look up to him for that. At a very early age I had the ability to memorize and learn songs within a couple of hours and it was then I realized that not everyone can do this. Music was something I loved and it came easy to me.
RW) I was reading your bio that you said that the late Selena Quintanilla was a huge influence on you musically. They say that we remember where we were when something so tragic happens. Do you remember the day Selena was shot? You would have been a little girl then, but how did hearing about her senseless death impact you and your family?
BN) I was about 9 years old when I remember hearing about Selena's death. I was sad and shocked, and never understood WHY her. It had a big impact on my family and me because she was who I grew up listening to and who I looked up to. I was inspired to keep her music alive and continue to live the dream she made become reality. I believe it could some day happen for me as well.
RW) If you had to describe your style of music, what would it be and what artist out there now would you say your music would be closest to in style?
BN) I would say my style is a mix of "Old School" vibe with a mix of some R&B. I'd describe the music I am working on right now has a Bruno Mars type of vibe.
RW) You have a new single you have out? What is the name of the song, and how did you come across this particular song?
BN) My first single is called, play the fool (for love). It was already pre-written by my music producer, Carlos Gullien. When I first listened to the song, it grew on me quickly and so we decided this was going to be the first song we start-off with because anyone can relate to this love song. The song is about not holding back, and if you feel that love, go for it!
RW) I asked you which artist would you say your music may closely resemble as far as genre's, but which artist out there now do you admire for their music?
BN) I admire Carrie Underwood for her music. I enjoy country music because it's always so positive, and nearly all of her songs I can relate to. I enjoy singing her music.
RW) I know that you are a mother. You discovered a love for music and talent at age 3. Are you seeing any music traits with your kids early on?
BN) Well, both of my kids have not taken on the desire like have for music, although my son did get into it at age 6, but his interest in it only lasted a year or two with some fun karaoke spots where he and I would sing. Both children do have voices for singing, so hopefully they may change their minds in the future (said with a big smile).
RW) How rewarding is it for you when you are on stage in front of hundreds of people who are connecting with your performances?
BN) To sing on stage before hundreds of people is a comfortable feeling for me and very exciting. It's the couple hundred thousands I can hardly wait to perform for. It will be a big accomplishment that I would be proud of how far I have come with my music and artistry.
RW) What's the one thing you want your audiences to take with them after seeing Brittany Nicole perform in concert. What do you hope the fans get from listening and watching you perform for them?
BN) After my performances I want the audience to remember the feelings they get when they connect with the messages in my music and it touches their heart. I want to lift up everyone in a positive way and be the reason they got through the day, or life in general, with my music. I want them to feel blessed and think to themselves "her voice soothes me and gets me through a bad day."
RW) I know that you are just getting established with music in your solo career, but are there future plans, at least in your head right now, to eventually go into acting, or modeling?
BN) Yes, in the future I do see myself taking on other opportunities outside of music. I am currently in negotiations for two films. So that opportunity is starting to present itself and I am very excited about that.
Thank you Brittany Nicole. I suspect that our readers will be hearing big things from you as you continue on your musical journey.

Wow, stunned. I really did not expect the heavy ‘70s soul influence from her song writer. Better she does it a great service. It is just nice. I wish her much luck. Another interesting story Sir. Keep them coming.
