Shahrukh Khan - The King of Romance
As I hear and see some of Shahrukh Khan's old songs, I can't help but miss the younger him! There was a time when I used to go to Shah Rukh Khan's movies first-day first show (post his DDLJ days) because I was unabashedly in love with him. He's absolutely amazing in his romantic scenes and you can't help but feel the love in his songs.
This page is dedicated to some of my most favorite Hindi romantic songs of the superstar Shahrukh Khan. If you are a die-hard romantic, I am sure you would love these songs because they are not only pleasing to hear but their lyrics are absolutely deep as well. Most of these songs come with English subtitles, so even if you do not understand Hindi, be sure to watch them and get a feeling of how Hindi movies usually are. We are full of song and dance mind you and we love it! Enjoy!
P.S: You will need to click on CC for some videos to see English subtitles.
Deewana Dil Deewana - Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa
I love the lines "tootha sitara toh manga tha rab se tujhko hi jaane wafa, jo tooth jaaye taare tamam mangu wohi ek dua" (Translation: Whenever I see a shooting star, I make the same wish over and over again.. for you !). I even like how the video has been shot. The two guys are head over heels in love with a girl and they are going to meet her after a long time. The song is a dedication to her and the memories they have shared together. One of the guys (Shahrukh's role) gets a hint that the other guy (Deepak Tijori) is out to receive the girl at the station and is not too happy about it. This video displays Shahrukh Khan at his adorable best!
Mitwa - Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna
This song is all about loving someone but refraining from declaring it because of complicated circumstances. Shahrukh Khan and Rani Mukherjee are friends who have a liking towards each other and help each other out in sorting out their marital problems. After the umpteen number of interactions, their friendship takes a more serious note and they start believing that they are more right for each other than their respective partners.
Tujhe Dekha To - Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge
No list of romantic songs would be complete without the inclusion of Tujhe Dekha To from DDLJ. One of the most popular romantic Hindi movies of all time depicts SRK at his mushy best. It's a typical bad boy meets good girl love story but the way the scenes have been shot and the simplicity of it all was what won over the audience. It's sad that we don't get to see such sweet and simple films anymore.
This song shows the reunion of two lovers in India. The girl is all set to get married to someone she doesn't love but the hero comes down to India from Europe to stop that from happening.
Loveria Hua - Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman
The term "loveria" became famous after the release of this song and lovers all over claimed they had 'loveria' (love disease) too. The song shows one of my favorite on-screen couples of all times - Shahrukh Khan and Juhi Chawla. Together they boast of crackling chemistry and impeccable comic timing. In this song, the two lovers are proclaiming their love for each other in front of the public. The last few scenes of this song show their innocence, making them look more like ecstatic school kids.
Jaadu Teri Nazar - Darr
I remember this movie gave me the creeps the first time I saw it. Shahrukh Khan plays a negative, obsessed lover in Darr. He follows the girl everywhere and even tries to ruin her happily married life. In this song, the female lead thinks the song is being sung for her by her own partner and thoroughly enjoys it. Later on, she comes to know that it was sung by someone else but has no clue as to who it was.
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai - Title Song
The movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai became a huge hit and was well-liked by the college-going crowd especially. It's about 2 friends (played by Kajol and SRK) who separate in college and then years later are reunited by the lead male character's 8-year-old daughter. Rani Mukherjee does a guest appearance in the movie as the male lead's love interest and whom he later goes on to marry. This song shows a dreamy sequence of the 3 characters being in love.
Humko Humise Churalo - Mohabbatein
Mohabbatein as the name implies is about many love stories. Shahrukh Khan plays the role of music teacher Aryan who used to be in love with a girl back in college days. The girl eventually commits suicide and the male lead promises himself (and her) that he will rectify the things that went wrong. This song shows all the 4 lead pairs of the movie and how they are different from each other.
Bholi Si Surat - Dil To Pagal Hai
Bholi si surat shows how a young man tells his best friend about his dream woman -- how she adorns an innocent-looking face but has eyes that are full of mischief. Shahrukh Khan and Karisma Kapoor play best friends in the movie whereas Madhuri Dixit plays his love interest. This Yash Chopra movie like all YRF movies is mushy to the core.
Suno Na - Chalte Chalte
This song from Chalte Chalte shows how the guy is trying to woo the girl. Chalte Chalte is a movie that starts where most of the other Hindi films finish off - after marriage. The couple faces some marital problems but then overcomes them all after a period of time.
Haule Haule - Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi
This cute song from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi shows a nerdy character totally in love with a woman who doesn't care much for him. But he's an optimist and believes that one day she surely will understand his feelings for her one way or the other. This forms the crux of the storyline where Shahrukh Khan's character goes all out in trying to woo the lady of his life despite the many obstructions in his path.
Main Agar Kahoon - Om Shanti Om
The male character sings to his date that she's the most gorgeous of all the girls he has met till then. The girl is impressed (but obviously). Om Shanti Om has both Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone portraying characters from two different eras. Reincarnation is the topic touched upon in this film.
Main Yahaan Hoon - Veer Zaara
Veer Zaara is the story of Veer who is from India and Zaara, a Pakistani girl. The female character lands up in India to carry out some rites and in the midst of this falls in love with an Indian officer played by Shahrukh Khan. The song shows how she lands up back in Pakistan but still, her mind is filled with thoughts of the young Indian officer. She sees him everywhere and is passionately in love but can hardly do anything much about it because her marriage is already fixed and moreover Veer belongs to a rival country.
Bairi Piya - Devdas
Devdas is the story of an alcoholic who drinks himself to death because of losing his childhood friend and lover. He becomes an addict and Shahrukh Khan brilliantly portrays this role of Devdas in the film. It is set in a Bengali backdrop and the visuals are a treat. This song highlights how the girl enjoys her time with Devdas even if he shows some mean streaks in him.
Roshni Se - Asoka
This movie is largely a fictional story of King Asoka and his various endeavors. He falls in love with a princess and this song is a dream sequence of the two of them. The song has been praised for its stunning visuals and lilting melody.
Bole Chudiyan - Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham
This is a peppy romantic number from Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. Shahrukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan play brothers in this movie. They sing this song at an Indian get-together in London. I chose this particular number from the movie because I like the fun beat to it aside from the romantic lyrics, the costumes, the choreography, etc.
Zaalima - Raees
Zaalima from Raees is one of the most mesmerizing songs of the last decade. Featuring the ever-gorgeous Mahira Khan, the song is not only a musical melody but a treat for the eyes as well. The lyrics are well-penned, deep, and poetic. Takes you into a whole another world. Not to forget our favorite Shah Rukh Khan who was at his enchanting best.

SRK is my all time fav hero. Of the songs you mentioned, my first and two would be
1. Tuje dekha ( DDLJ)
2. Main Yaha Hoo ( Veer Zara)
Though you shared Mitwa but I like title song of the Movie KANK soon after his divorce. And I loved Badshah songs too.
