A First Look At Yuka Tano
What follows here is an in depth look at the life and career of Yuka Tano of the girl group AKB48 however there is a different kind of start to this article. Instead of talking about who Yuka Tano is first, we will look at what makes her interesting as a pop music idol.
Yuka Tano Stars In a Major Stage Play With Ayaka Umeda
Ayaka Umeda along with AKB48 member Yuka Tano had been selected to star in the musical called “The Wonderful Wizard of OZ.” This is exciting news for Umeda who has been a member of both AKB48 and NMB48. This news was made public on October 21, 2014. AKB48 members took part in the auditions and the decision to include both Yuka Tano and Umeda came after a last round of auditions. The auditions began on July 6, 2014 and the two girls were chosen among the 108 candidates. These members demonstrated their acting, dancing, and singing skills during the auditions. Former AKB48 member Yuka Masuda who resigned from the group following a highly publicized scandal had won the lead role for two straight years starting in 2012.
Even the Stage Director Shares His Thoughts About Casting Tano and Umeda
Stage director Amon Miyamoto made a comment about casting the two mentioned girls by saying that he did not see any reason to drop any of them. As a fan of stage plays and musicals, I had been filled with joy when I heard this news. There has been so much success with AKB48 and its members that you could write a biography of the group! However, this section was first composed back in 2016 when I had written my first such article about these two girls. Since I have written about Ayaka Umeda before, it is good to take a look at who Yuka Tano is.

Tano and Umeda Share Their Thoughts On The Wonderful Wizard of OZ
As the announcement was made for these two lead roles, both Tano and Umeda were in tears. Umeda said that she “could finally see the stage” that she could not see two years ago. What was once a part taken and played by Yuka Masuda can now be done by Umeda. Umeda’s patience has paid off! Umeda starred in her first musical in spring 2014 called “In the Heights” and she played the role as the lead heroine. She starred as 15 year-old Dorothy. Umeda says that she will try her best to “act young.” This musical would be the first one for Tano who is recognized as the best dancer in AKB48’s Team K. Tano, then 18, said that getting the lead role for this musical “is a dream come true.” She said that she would study hard with Umeda. The musical ran from March 8-22 2015 at Tokyo’s International Forum Hall C. The play and musical was also shown in Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka, the birthplace of Mariko Shinoda.
Tano Ranks Very High In a Tournament and Releases a Solo Documentary

Tano who is now 23, jumped around from team to team before she settled in as a member of Team K. Her first significant achievement as a member of AKB48 was at the event called the 34th single Janken Senbatsu Tournament and Tano came out of it ranked as the 7th most popular AKB48 member! It would be in November 2014 that her solo documentary called The Reason for Tears was released.

It would be in January 2016 that Tano would star in the stage play called DNA Shakuraku and she played the role of Shirasaki Lemon. The play would last from January 10th through January 24th of 2016.
