All About Japanese Girl Group Nmb48 Pop Music Group From Osaka

Ara is a journalism graduate from California State University, Northridge, who is always looking to explore his writing opportunities.

What is NM48 & What Does This Group Do?

Those of you that have followed what has gone on within the huge Japanese idol section of the industry know that I have dedicated much time to covering AKB48. But for now, I wanted to just focus on one of the other groups NMB48. NMB48 is a Japanese girl group based in Osaka. It is one of the “sister” musical groups of NMB48 founded by producer Yasushi Akimoto in 2010. He wanted to expand AKB48’s influence and see if they could get exposure in other countries in Asia. The song called Renai Higaitodoke is a B-side song to the single "Kitagawa Kenji" and it is my favorite NMB48 song so far! NMB48 also known as Namba 48 is a Japanese girl group similar to the group AKB48 and this group also holds regular stage performances.

The First & Second Generations of NMB48 Members

The first set of auditions witnessed 26 girls successfully passing. However, there still had to be what is called inter-auditions so that 16 girls could be chosen for what was supposed to be Team N. The first performances of NMB48 were started on January 1, 2011. Team N was formed on March 10, 2011. It would be announced that NMB48 would be making their single debut with the one called “Zetsumetsu Kurokami Shoujo.” That single was eventually released on July 20, 2011. At the end of Team N’s performance at TDC Hall on June 6, 2011, the second generation members of this group was announced, thus bringing the total number of members to 48 which was the goal from the start of this group’s history.

Suspensions & Replacements of NMB48 Members Followed

Note: the reason that Shimada was suspended at the time is because NMB48 just like these other girl groups forbids their members from having boyfriends as long as they are members of these groups.

She was suspended from the rest of these group activities for the rest of 2011. In addition to her suspension, members Akari Yoshida and Shiori Matsuda were suspended because they were unable to balance their school work with their work life. Yoshida along with Rina Kondo and Miyuki Watanabe were suspended from what is called the preliminary Senbatsu for the group’s second single for reasons that were never publicly revealed. These girls were replaced with Yuuki Yamaguchi, Natsumi Yamagishi, and Ayaka Murakami.

The Single Called Durian Shounen Reaches #1 On the Japanese Singles Chart!

Osaka Japan’s girl group NMB48 has made history for a great reason. Their 12th single called Durian Shounen made its debut at #1 on the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart. Durian Shounen was released on July 15, 2015 and it is the follow-up single to the one called Don’t Look Back! Durian Shounen sold 371,000 copies during its first week of release. The single comes in a regular edition, a DVD and a Theater Edition as well. NMB48 made history by being the 5th female fronted group to have ten chart topping singles. The four other groups to accomplish this milestone are AKB48, SKE48, Nogizaka46 and Morning Musume. Ririka Suto, then 18, would serve as the center for this single. She was the group’s first round draft pick during the 1st AKB48 Group Draft Kaigai in November 2013. This is also the first time that a drafted member will take the center spot for a title track of any of these groups’ singles.

You are so right. We need to be positive even if that is a challenge at times. I'm glad that you found this article about NMB48 interesting. The group's name is short for Namba 48 and they have a theater based in Osaka, Japan where they hold regular theatrical performances.

yes, the money is a motivation - but, we need to share our passions more than anything else, innit? We need positivity in our lives. :D

Ara Vahanian (author) from LOS ANGELES on May 15, 2019:

Alexander: sorry for the late reply. Subreddits are part of Reddit. Oh yes now I remember that! Yes it does take time for the search engines to index the articles. My other motivation for writing here on Hubpages is so I can inform the world about interesting topics that may matter. There's only so much time that we can spend watching the news, much of it which is negative. I also write because of the passion. I've found that submitting articles & blog posts to social media sites helps a lot sometimes.

Alexander James Guckenberger from Maryland, United States of America on May 14, 2019:

Try submitting your articles to subreddits with high quantities of subscribers. More than anything else, that has worked the best for me. Also, google search engines (and others) often pick up on some of our articles with time. Just give articles about a year or two to climb the ratings, and you will start to see your work starting tom come up in online searches. I don't know if the amount of videos will help or not. Controversial topics tend to get people's attention, but what gets people's attention today can change by tomorrow (literally and in a more hyperbolic sense). Absolutely my friend; I can use help too, so don't forget about me if you discover something that works particularly well. :)

Ara Vahanian (author) from LOS ANGELES on May 14, 2019:

Thank you for encouraging me! Is there anything that you try to do with your articles that I could try so that I could get good traffic? Maybe try to fill in all the capsules and at least have 2-3 videos? Usually my highest traffic articles have to do with the ones that are either very controversial topics or they are articles about well-known celebrities but it depends. I think part of it also depends on what people are searching for at a given time. I will continue to write here because I really enjoy the fact that I found a website which allows me to publish my written work other than just on a personal website. Thanks again for the encouragement and feedback!

Their smooth and heavily pigmented skin is incredible. I enjoy the politeness as well ("for the most part", as you wrote). I've never been to those countries; those exes came to the States. :D Don't give up; some of my favorite things to write about have the least amount of views per article. It should eventually add up with time Ara. :)

Ara Vahanian (author) from LOS ANGELES on May 14, 2019:

I really didn't have a huge interest in Asian women until 2005 when I went to Japan. I just love their flawless skin and bodies but what also is attractive about them is their high level of sophistication and education plus their politeness (for the most part). I have not been to Thailand and Cambodia. Wow! Thanks for commenting. I don't usually receive comments on articles like this but it is nice to see that you were interested. I will write at least one of more of these types of articles soon.

Alexander James Guckenberger from Maryland, United States of America on May 14, 2019:

I love the eyelid and general skin structure around the eyes, which are thought to have developed to protect their ancestors from sun blindness. One of my ex-girlfriends was Cambodian and one was Thai. Looking into their eyes is just amazing for me. I did like the article. :)

Ara Vahanian (author) from LOS ANGELES on May 14, 2019:

I do as well. Is there something specific that you love about them? Thanks for stopping by to comment. Did you enjoy reading the article?

Alexander James Guckenberger from Maryland, United States of America on May 14, 2019:

I love Eastern-Asian women.
