Everything I know so far
SpiderMan Across The Spider-Verse seemed like a dream for me, and maybe other Spiderverse film fans. Yet in December 4th 2021, when the teaser dropped, it felt like a dream, and it was technically a dream come true. Because I thought we weren’t gonna get a sequel. I was under the mistaken impression that Spiderverse under performed. Yet, upon fact checking myself I found out it made $190,000 in the U.S. to it’s $90,000 budget.
Meaning a sequel was guaranteed, as Lord and Miller announced it in November 2019. It was originally slated for April 2022, but due to COVID concerns it was delayed until October 7th, and then was delayed… Again…
The first trailer dropped on December 4th 2021 which announced to be released on October 7th 2022. However it was announced to be delayed until June 7th 2023, but the reasons for doing so are unknown. Though based on what I’ve seen the delay is due to the lack of finished footage. And given how ambitious Lord and Miller are with this film and it’s sequel, the delay, as frustrating as it is, makes sense. As they obviously want to put out the best film that they can given the anticipation for the film.
The film follows the events of the first movie, as Miles Morales is in college, before taken on a journey throughout the multiverse.
Despite the delay I’m still eager to see this film. Hope it’s as good if not better than the first.
