If you truly want to enjoy Trance music, you need to first realize that the genre is not meant to be listened like a song heard on the street. Trance tracks are usually made for a club environment with booming bass. Listening on good speakers is a must for one to appreciate the intricacies of the music. Bad speakers tend to make Trance sound monotonous.

Trance music, being a mostly electronic genre, can take quite a bit of time to get past its intro. Have patience. There is an unwritten rule in music: higher the tempo, more the repetition. Trance tracks typically have a tempo of between 128 and 145 beats per minute. As a result, they tend to have a lot of repetition. Repetition is neither good nor bad. It is just what it is.
Good Trance music is capable of making one give wings to his or her imagination. As you listen to a Trance track, try to make an emotional connection with it by reliving moments from your past life. Are you listening to a song with soft or warm synths playing at a tempo of between 128 and 132 beats-per-minute? If so, close your eyes and think of a moment of love in your life. Or think of a painful experience from which you have now recovered and which has made you the person you now are.

Trance is a genre of electronic dance music, so it is more-often-than-not very dance worthy. Groove to the beats. Move your being in excited steps that infect those around you with enthusiasm and a general sense of well-being.
Groove to the Rhythm!
4.Realize the purpose
Realize that the purpose of the genre is to take you on a trip within yourself. Do not resist the urge to go travelling into the deepest and most unexplored parts of your being. Be a pioneer journeying into thy emotions. You are a discoverer. You are going to a place where no one has ever been before!
The honest truth is that, like is the case with pretty much every genre, there are some pretty mediocre Trance tracks. Don't let this sobering fact get in the way of you enjoying some top-notch tracks by the greats of the genre such as Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, Andy Moor, and Brian Transeau. You will not regret your persistence.
6. Share Tracks With Friends
Sharing anything is a multiplier of happiness. Share your favourite Trance tracks with those you think have the kind of personality to enjoy electronic genres. Ask them to share their favourite songs with you as well.
7. As You Listen to the Music, Look at a Picture of Someone You Love
Looking at images of the love-of-your-heart will make you truly relish the power of Trance. It will surely take you on a journey that is both exhilarating and deeply emotional.
Love Fuels Trance!
8. Listen on Speakers With Good Bass
For the music you listen to display its true power, make sure you listen on a set of good speakers where the bass is pronounced. The bassline is the grounding force of a Trance track and has an important role to play in how the music is perceived.
9. Follow the Lyrics Closely
Many Trance tracks have lovely vocal elements that are capable of making the human spirit soar. Follow the lyrics and allow them to seep into your thought-process. Some of the top vocalists of now are Richard Bradford, Stine Grove, Tiff Lacey, Christina Novelli, Audrey Gallagher, Sarah Howells, Aruna Abrams, Jennifer Rene, Melissa Loretta, Tania Zygar, and Elleah.

10. Listen at Night
There seems to be a very mysterious relationship between Trance music and night time. Somehow, the music becomes more beautiful after dark when things quieten down and the spirit and limbs are tired.
