About Plastic Memories

Tsukasa Mizugaki is an 18-year-old college aspiring boy who shamelessly fails his college entrance exams. However, with some resourceful tactics, he manages to find a job at the SAI Corp (Sion Artificial Intelligence Corporation). The company is known for the development of highly advanced androids called “Giftias”. These androids closely resemble original humans, except the fact that they have a maximum lifespan of merely 9 years 4 months (81, 920 hours).

Tsukasa is assigned to Terminal Service One. The station is responsible for collecting the Giftias that are near their expiration date to retrieve their memory before it’s lost permanently and they become hostile. Tsukasa is partnered with Terminal Service veteran, Isla, who is also a Giftia. She is counted among the best in Giftia retrievals irrespective of her petite appearance and calm nature. Being an android, her days are certainly limited, but this doesn’t go well with Tsukasa as he develops feelings for her. Undoubtedly, no matter how much one desires someone, everything has to end someday.

It’s sad how we can’t have the person we most desired for. However, even if they can’t stay with us forever, they do end up giving us some of the best memories of our lives. This makes life worth living even when they are not around. Exactly same happened with Tsukasa in Plastic Memories and the same goes for the following epic anime stories.
