Informative hub! Too many people I have met assume getting into the business of interior design is rather simple. However, as you pointed out, to get hired by an established firm typically requires a great deal of schooling and some hands-on experience. Thus, a notable college worth looking at it is Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. This institution has an excellent reputation throughout the nation for their architectural program, and I have heard equally good things about their interior design program.

I would really want to get into interior design and earn a BA degree, but nearby me there is only one Academy (South of Spain) and I can not afford it financially if I give up my job at the moment, but they do not offer online or distance learning which I could organize around my work. I am searching for online courses but I am stuggling to find any kind of ranking between these schools, so how can I know which one should I choose to get a degree which is valued in the real life? Do you have any suggestion which schools to choose or where can I find such a ranking? (I have found rankings of universities but I would like rankings on their Interior designer courses - which might not be exactly the same ranking)

As an interior designer by profession i have interviewed more than 100 people for my company in the past 13 years. Some of them who have completed interior design courses had got the basic ideas of interior design but the level of creativity and with regard to design implementation they had to be trained. I prefer interior designers who have got professional experience.

Yes 007, many do. I remember when i was at The Art Institute Of Atlanta, i was placed on a sort of internship, working as a designer, whilst at school.
And after graduation, i worked for a number of months as a designer, this time with one of my part time college tutor's establishment.
Thank you for visiting and leaving nice comments on my hubs.
Cheers
