Should you READ or WATCH Anne of Green Gables first?
Read the book first!
anonymous: I read the book first, because it is the original. The book has a lot of extra information and details the movies don't have.
Fay Favored: If I'm teaching a unit I always tell my students to read first, because many times the movie is nothing like the book.
Michelle: Reading the book is always better. Leave the idiot box off!
Chocolatealchemy: Definitely read the book first - to use my own imagination!
anonymous: it will be better
anonymous: book by far!!!
lovetolink: There is more scope for the imagination in reading first!
Jimmie Lanley: Absolutely read the book.
Abridged or unabridged?
Watch the Movie first!
eccles1: I love the whole story, it is a good family movie
anonymous: It was my favorite tv series of all time. I read the whole set of the books later on to understand more on the stories.

Great introduction to the series.

Very nice! I love the maps. I recently flew over Prince Edward Island on my way home from Denmark, and I was so happy to be seeing Anne's world (even though from the sky) and remembering the books and movies (shared years ago with my children) . . . I would love to actually go there someday. :)

I like the video clips. They bring back some memories when I was young as it was my favorite tv series. I love the character of Anne Shirley and the place she lived - Prince Edward Island.
