When we invest in education, we are investing in our future. We are investing in a better society, where everyone has access to quality education, regardless of gender, race or economic status.

—We all know that education should be free, but what does that actually mean?

The United States has a history of not providing free education. In the colonial era, only the wealthy had access to higher education. The first public university in America was founded in 1819, and it wasn’t until 1862 that the Morrill Act allowed states to sell public land for agricultural and technical colleges. The Higher Education Act of 1965 was an important turning point because it provided federal funding for universities and colleges in the form of grants and loans.

This is not enough though. We need to provide a quality education at all levels without charging tuition fees or asking students to take out loans with high interest rates. With this system, we will also be able to provide more support for those who need it most - low-income students, first-generation college students, and people who are struggling academically.

In the past, education was free because it would have been too difficult to enforce. Now, with the internet and the digital age, we can track and monitor students easily. There are also many different ways to learn now that weren't available before.

With access to information on the internet, there is no reason that education should cost money. It's not a luxury anymore - it's a necessity for life in this day and age.
