Why We Should Give Thanks To Our Creator

Claudette Carter, is thrilled to share the good news of Jehovah God's kingdom and its hope for the future with people of all nations.

Giving Thanks To Our Grand Creator For His Creations

Watching the clouds gather over the ocean before a storm, reminds us that we are not in control but that there is someone much more powerful, our Grand Creator. We should thank God for life everyday.

A sunrise early in the morning, brings on a new day of wonderful hopes and dreams, given to us by our Creator, Jehovah God.

To capture the beauty of a flower in the flickering light of a camera lens is awesome. God gave us the ability to see, feel and smell the magnificence of this flower. He is truly deserving of our thanks.

The Importance of Giving Thanks

The giving of thanks should be prevalent throughout the world daily, not just on the fourth Thursday of November every year. There has been an annual tradition of a Thanksgiving celebration from the sixteenth century, up to our day. #William Bradford of the Plymouth Plantation during the sixteenth century explained, "Thus they found the Lord to be with them in all their ways, and to bless their outgoings and incomings, for which let His holy name have the praise forever, to all prosperity." Today this #giving of thanks is viewed as a national holiday. From a historical perspective, giving of thanks was first associated with God's people, the nation of Israel. It was a time to rejoice and give thanks for all the blessings they received through the abundance of their crops. Israel was to give praise and thanks in a celebration called the #Festival of Booths which was a gathering of crops and wine for their enjoyment. This celebration gave them the incentive to admit that their prosperity came from our Grand Creator #Jehovah and not themselves. Do we fully understand how and why we should give thanks to God daily and not just once a year? When we do give thanks to Almighty God daily, we resonate with joy and true jubilation.

Today, humans are impoverished for something real to celebrate. All of the holidays including Thanksgiving, have been rendered to millions of dollars spent on food purchases and other things to help people celebrate. These celebratory sessions are not complete without a Macy's parade, an American football game, a college basketball classic, and numerous other traditions. Some celebrations continue with the attachment of day after events such as Black Friday, where tremendously heavy shopping occurs so that retailers get out of the red into the black. Paunch profits are sometimes made, leaving some individuals in financial peril. #Holiday celebrations such as #Thanksgiving or Black Friday, send some into financial bliss, while others wither into economic and spiritual decline.

Previously, these days of giving thanks, was a celebration of what humanity's Creator had given them. During that time, there was an abundance of everything for everyone. When we delve into the aspects of our giving of thanks and other celebrations today; can we honestly say these celebrations are an acknowledgment of what God has done for us? Do we deliberately pretend that it is about love for our Creator, as we sprinkle the giving of thanks only certain times of the year? Do we genuinely consider how our Creator might feel? Complaints given that these celebrations are all about fun and the enjoyment of life. Our Creator wants us to enjoy life. Remember what he proclaimed at Leviticus 23:40 which states, ". . . and ye shall rejoice before Jehovah your #God seven days." American Standard Version When Jesus Christ was on earth; he clearly expressed how his Heavenly Father was a happy God, who wanted his people to be happy. This happiness is connected with our spiritual needs as well. Notice that point at Matthew 5:6, "Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled." When we live by these standards, we will readily give thanks to our Grand Creator, who is truly deserving of our thanks, since he gave us life as well as the beautiful creations that surround us daily.

Our Creator has feelings. We can either hurt God or make his heart rejoice. Notice how Psalms 78:40,41, unfortunately, reveals that in the Easy-to-Read-Version, "Oh, they caused him so much trouble in the desert! They made him so sad. Again and again, they tested his patience. They really hurt the Holy One of Israel." What a tremendously caring God we serve. #Jehovah cared for humankind so deeply that he gave the most precious thing that existed in his life. He sent his only begotten Son as a savior and ransom so that we can enjoy the beautiful creations we see daily such as a sunrise, clouds in the sky and beautiful flowers. When we consider our Creator's feelings, it brings him joy, and we can be happier people. That is why giving thanks to our Heavenly Father not only makes him happy but it brings more harmony and peace into our lives. We also really want to give God thanks daily because he deserves it as our Creator.

The major sacrifice by Jehovah through his precious son Jesus Christ’s death will be commemorated through a special Bible talk on Sunday, April 5th, 2020. Please also look forward to ”the annual commemoration of the death of Jesus Christ.” This special event is important because ”on the night before he died, Jesus told his followers to commemorate his death.” Jesus went on to say, ”Keep doing this in remembrance of me.” On Tuesday, April 7th, 2020 we will remember why Jesus gave his life for all humanity. At the present time large spiritual events are being cancelled. ”The world headquarters of Jehovah's Witnesses is closely monitoring the outbreak of the novel # coronavirus disease (known as COVID-19). We know from Bible prophecy that pestilence is a notable feature of the last days. (Luke 21:11) When there is an outbreak of disease, it is wise to take practical measures to protect ourselves as well as others. - Proverbs 22:3.” For additional information on the times and when these special spiritual events will be featured go to www.jw.org.

Yes, daily we give thanks:) Each day we awake, He has given us another day to live! Making the most of that day, hour or minute...brings joy to Him:)

We should give God the joy of loving us at our best, and certainly "an attitude of gratitude" is part of our gift to Him.
