Unpublicized Fact: the Main Protagonists of the 1917 Russian Revolution Were Jews

MG is a keen political observer and commentator who has a ringside seat to the turbulent years of the present political scenario

The Dynasty of Czar Nicholas II had ruled Russia for close to 300 years. Czar Nicholas II was a despot but one can say he was not harsh as he allowed even people like Lenin to carry on their nefarious activities. But one aspect of his life which cannot be ignored is the state-sponsored anti-Semitism policies followed by the Russian government. After the Russian defeat at the hands of Japan in the naval battle in the eastern Pacific1904, his hold had considerably slackened. The Russian economy which was doing pretty well before the first world war suddenly collapsed after the Germans won resounding victories.

The Czar failed to look beyond his nose and insisted on continuing the battle against Germany leading to great hardship at home. He had a committed opponent in the form of the Jews. Nobody has been able to come to the conclusion as to why in Russia there were such anti-Semitic feelings but the fact is it was supported by the czar himself and many areas closer to western Europe were not open for settlement for Jews. This anti-Semitic feeling against the Jews had built up in Russia over the centuries and it was obvious that the Jews were looking for a way out of this. There was an underground movement against Czar led by the Communist party. Along with Vladimir Lenin, the other top leader of the revolution was Leon Trotsky. He was born Lev Davidovich Bronstein in Yanovka, Ukraine on November 7, 1879. His parents, David and Anna Bronstein, were prosperous Jewish farmers.

Thus he was the second most important man in the Russian Revolution. It stands to reason that a significant number of Jews joined the Communist Party and the revolution against Nicholas II. They hoped to escape from anti-Semitism and blatant discrimination which was encouraged by the Czar. The Russians do not wish to talk about this aspect of the revolution. Nicholas II had witnessed the assassination of Czar Alexander II by the Jewish terrorist, Vera Figner, leader of a terrorist group called, “The People’s Will.” This was one of the reasons for his anti-Semitic stand.

What about Lenin? I have some surprising news about him. Lenin was of Russian and Kalmuck ancestry, but he was also one-quarter Jewish. His maternal grandfather, Israel (Alexander) Blank, was a Ukrainian Jew who was later baptized into the Russian Orthodox Church.

Both Lenin and Trotsky had a big hand in the murder of Czar Nicholas II. These facts were kept secret by the Communist government till 1992 when independent researchers gave information that the final order to murder the czar was given by none other than Lenin and Trotsky.

As is well-known on the night of July 16-17, 1918, a squad of Bolshevik secret police murdered the Czar, his wife, Tsaritsa Alexandra, their 14-year-old son, Tsarevich Alexis, and their four daughters. They were shot in a room of the house in Ekaterinburg, where they were being held, prisoner.

The bodies were carted away to the countryside and hastily buried in a secret grave. .

Leading a revolution

Soviet history written during the time of Stalin has failed to acknowledge the fact that the leaders of the October revolution were mostly Jews. As per the official Soviet history which is now under revision no credit is given to the Jews for the October revolution. Though officially Jews were never more than five percent of the country's total population, yet they played a highly significant decisive role during the revolution and its aftermath.

As the Soviet government took shape in 1917 after the abdication of Nicholas, the Jews became the dominating part of the Soviet government. Most Soviet historians including western writers on the subject have studiously ignored this aspect of the revolution. These facts were known to Adolf Hitler and that was one of the reasons he always referred to Communist philosophy as a Jewish ideology.

If we go through the archives of that period we find that along with Trotsky who incidentally headed the red Army, there were many others who held significant positions and all of them were Jews.

Among the more important leaders at that time were Yakov Sverdlov (Solomon) who was both the Bolshevik party's executive secretary and chairman of the Central Executive Committee. In effect he was head of the Soviet government

The next important man was Grigori Zinoviev (Radomyslsky). He headed the Communist International (Comintern). This has been started by the Russian government as a vehicle not only to spread communism but disaffection in enemy lands. It was the central agency for spreading revolution in foreign countries.

Other prominent Jews included press commissar Karl Radek (Sobelsohn), foreign affairs commissar Maxim Litvinov (Wallach), Lev Kamenev (Rosenfeld), and Moisei Uritsky.

We are all aware that before the October revolution in the month of February there was another revolution. This was headed by Kerensky who had fallen out with Lenin. Karenski was a moderate and released a lot of political prisoners but he was himself overthrown after a few months and fled to Paris and then died in the United States in 1970. Lenin who seized power was not a bigoted person and believed in internationalism. He reportedly at one stage said that the only intelligent people in Russia are the Jews.

I do not know what was the feeling of the Jews towards Russia but they were part of the movement to spread communism all over the world.

The hold of the Jews on the October revolution can be gauged from the fact that in a secret meeting held in Leningrad just before the October revolution 12 prominent leaders attended. They were members of the Bolshevik party's Central Committee. Out of these four were Russians (including Lenin), one Georgian (Stalin), one Pole (Dzerzhinsky), and six Jews. Out of these four Jews had very significant appointments and roles namely Trotsky, Sokolnikov, Zinoviev, and Kamenev. These four were part of a seven-member "political bureau." The chairman of this group was Trotsky. This was the beginning of his enmity with Joseph Stalin which resulted in his assassination in Mexico City in 1940.

The hold of the Jews on the October revolution now solidified. Trotsky set up a "Military Revolutionary Committee." Its aim was to lay down the nuts and bolts of how to seize power and execute the opponents. It was an 18 member committee and was composed of 9 Russians, one Ukrainian, one Pole, one Caucasian, and six Jews.

There was also a five-member"Revolutionary Military Center." This was like the office of the general staff in an army and consisted of one Russian (Bubnov), one Georgian (Stalin), one Pole (Dzerzhinsky), and two Jews (Sverdlov and Uritsky).

The United States Ambassador in Russia David Francis at that time wrote a memo to the state department in which he mentioned that the Bolshevik leaders are mostly Jews and 90 percent of whom are returned exiles. He went on to add that they do not have any love for Russia but are interested only in internationalism and want a worldwide revolution.

The hold of the Jews on the Russian revolution is a revelation. After Lenin seized power many of the important posts in the cabinet were held by Jews and many of them became members of the secret police. One of the well-known historians Salo Baron has noted that an immensely disproportionate number of Jews joined the Bolshevik " Cheka"- the secret police and were instrumental in shooting to death many of those who they suspected to be anti-revolutionary.

Another point that must be mentioned here is that Lenin suffered a stroke that left him partially paralyzed. That is the time he decided to form a collective leadership to rule Russia in his absence. He had a low opinion of Stalin and did not wish that he should be a member of this committee. The collective leadership that emerged at that time was headed by a man called Zinoviev. Unfortunately for Zinoviev he made Stalin his enemy and when he seized power executed him in 1936 during the famous purge.

The Jews continued in important positions in Russia even when Stalin was in power and his foreign minister before Molotov was a Jew named Maxim Litvinov. He was later if I remember correctly ambassador to the USA. One inalienable fact remains that the Jews had a big hand in the October revolution as well as the earlier March revolution. Hitler recognized this fact and equated Communism with Jews.

This is a very interesting article with surprising information. I never knew the Jews were so involved in Russia and some in leadership roles. Ths is an eye opener. Thanks for such an interesting historical article, MG.

Nick, very true. The architect of the Concentration camp was Leon Trotsky-aJew.He was the most important leader of the revolution after Lenin. The Jew's were persecuted under the Czar probably were responsible for most of the excesses after the revolution. But they are a brilliant race and Tom below has brought out many facts.

Tom, Stalin had strains of anti Semetism. Molotov wife was Jew and Stalin wanted him to divorce her but Stalin died. The Russians do not acknowledge that the 1917 revolution architect were the Jew's but you can't hide this fact. David was a wonderful actor before he migrated to Canada. Nadira the first star of Bollywood. Heroine of film Aan with Dilip Kumar a hit. He wanted to sleep with her but she gave no lift and he destroyed her career. Mention of Jew's is in the Bhavisiya puran as well as Essa Masih (Christ) . This is a wonder.

This is a very interesting and thoughtful, thought-provoking article. Little did I realise that so many Jews were involved in the Russian revolution. It does seem then, that a lot of the revolution and the revenge it took was orchestrated by Jews. Those who had suffered at the hands of Czar Nicholas.

It is understandable now, why Hitler hated Communism and saw it as a Jewish ideology. The founders of Communism were Jewish-Germans, were they not? Marx was certainly Jewish and possibly Engels.

Thank you for this article.

Thanks Tom, Jew's are a master race but somehow Solomon lost power and kingdom. There is no doubt they have a brilliant mind. Even now Israel produces excellent weaponry which is used by Indian Armed Forces. The Jew's have tought the Arabs a lesson or two on how to fight a war. Gen Jacob a Jew led the assault on Dacca in 1971. Probably their brilliance unnerves others leading to anti ant-semetism . Christ was also born a Jew but he digressed and was betrayed and crucified. But I have read he didn't die on the cross but survived and came to Kashmir. His supposed grave is at Rozabal. I have been there.
