Assassinations and Rumors

In late 1963, some government sources stated that they would not release complete details of John Fitzgerald Kennedy's demise to the general public until every living person from November 22, 1963 was dead. This was to be after November 22, 2063. However, legislation in 1966 forced release of most of the documents in the autumn of 2017.

Too Much Redacting

The Warren Commission Report was released with the statement that this was the true and complete account of the assassination.

Not believing this to be the full account and recalling the statement of some government officials, investigators, and film makers have continued to examine the crime from all angles and possible connections for over half a century.

Documents and details released in 2017 contained too much redaction, so the full story is unknown. In addition, Dealy Plaza in Dallas was reconstructed, destroying any lingering evidence. Even parts of the interior of the Schoolbook Depository were removed.

Marilyn Monroe Murder

A recording of a conversation was brought to light in the late 1970s and discussed on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show by a member of the Rat Pack (I watched the show). It was a recorded phone conversation from Marilyn Monroe's bungalow on the night of her death.

The conversation was between Peter Lawford, who married into the Kennedy clan, and someone from the government, speculation being that it was Robert F. Kennedy.

The important line was from Lawford:

"She's had her last enema." The tape was confiscated and its whereabouts unknown. However, other incriminating information has surfaced in the film presentation of the evidence for murder.

Marilyn Monroe used enemas to keep her weight down, much like an eating disorder, and kept the old-style enema bag hanging in her bathroom. Some theorists believe that barbiturates were put into her enema bag because they are more quickly absorbed into the colon and intestine than if taken by mouth.

Barbiturates would not show up in her stomach if this method had been used.

I did not have an opinion about this until I saw a rerun of the animal veterinary show from the UK, All Creatures Great and Small. Among its fascinating true stories there was an episode in which a sick tiger, under the influence of some substance that prevented his waking. He would soon die and fluids could not be pumped into his stomach fast enough to help. He was up and moving in a short time. He was administered strong black lukewarm coffee rectally and was up in a few hours.

A bell rang and I was convinced. Murder was possible in the Monroe case. Barbiturates would not show up in her stomach if this method had been used.

A Stunning Documentary

Election Year: 1960

Several African-American college students sat at a segregated Woolworth store lunch counter in North Carolina in a peaceful sit-in protest. This was a hallmark of the birth of the Civil Rights Movement that President Kennedy supported.

Many votes in America voiced non-support of President Kennedy because he was Catholic. They feared that he would rule the USA almost as a pope, using Catholic rules and customs.

Another objection voiced by those who voted for Richard M. Nixon, was that they did not trust an Irishman in the office of President, based on false stereotypes of drunkenness and lack of education among Irish people.

A third objection was that JFK's father bought the election for him with help from the Mafia.

  • General Curtis LeMay and the Blue Room: Senator Barry Goldwater would later telephone his friend and fellow US Air Force General Curtis "Bombs Away" LeMay to help him gain entrance into the Wright Patterson AFB secret "Blue Room" cache of artifacts from the Roswell UFO Incident of July 1947. LeMay shouted, cursed, and slammed down the telephone receiver.

Final year: 1963, First Half

  • January 1963. A negative start to the new year: George C. Wallace becomes Governor of Alabama and says "...segregation now; segregation tomorrow; segregation forever!" This sentiment was directly opposed to JFK's mission for human rights and civil rights. The statement was mirrored in the motto of the future Panem in The Hunger Games: "Panem today! Panem tomorrow! Panem Forever!"

October 31. J. Edgar Hoover had received several warnings about assassination plans by Carlos Marcello and possibly Santos Trafficante - both with encouragement from Jimmy Hoffa - toward JFK and RFK since 1962 and never reported them to the Kennedy brothers. His last meeting with JFK was held on this day, Halloween 1963, just three weeks before the assassination.

Thought: Was Hoover a Republican and aggressively opposed to the Democratic Administration of JFK? He had exerted pressure on Ronald Reagan previously, with the help of Hedda Hopper, to encourage the future President of the 1980s to become Republican.

This is an amazing timeline, filled with so much information and allowing the reader to see the connection of the dots. Very absorbing article:)

Thanks for your comments. We hear rumors of George H. W. Bush being involved as well. I am waiting for the Marilyn Monroe film to come out in 2012. It's been delayed a few years already.

Grace Marguerite Williams from the Greatest City In The World-New York City, New York on July 29, 2012:

I hear of this before that LBJ was behind the death of JFK. I remember having a discussion about this in elementary school. I also read an article about this recently!

Patty Inglish MS (author) from USA and Asgardia, the First Space Nation on November 13, 2011:

That's horrid - Confined, sick in bed and viewing the tragedy at the same time. The biggest thing I remember is kids and a few teachers screaming and crying when the loudspeaker announcement happened that afternoon.I remember the drum cadence of the funeral procession and it's haunting, and Mrs. Kennedy walking in the street with Bobby and Ted, and the horse with backwards boots.

Thanks for sharing things from your experience!

Gail Sobotkin from South Carolina on November 12, 2011:

Great article with many links to other sources of information. This topic has always fascinated me and I doubt if we ever will know the real truth in our lifetimes. I was 10 years old and sick in bed with a strep infection when I heard the news on TV. I remember watching the funeral televised and Little John John saluting his father. Even though I was just a kid myself, that really tugged at my heart strings.

It was a sad, violent and scary time period in our history.

Thanks for sharing this information.

Voted up, useful, awesome and interesting.

Do you mean, what part in the investigation did he play?

Amnah Khan on October 11, 2011:

I want to know what role did Robert F. Kennedy play as an Attorney General of the United States in case of assassination of JFK?

Jeddy on August 05, 2010:

I was 9 when I did not know much about the USA. All I knew were the comic books I read, nothing else. That was strange time. I was with some of cousins in Karachi, two of them were in their late teens were sobbing. I saw the newspaper which they were reading. I saw another where I was staying with mom. A line of photographs. Of a person whom I did not know and the story of some actress at the same time. The two incidents stayed in my mind to this day.I do not know how it was reported that the actress had been killed a year before. When both stories appeared at the same time. I had no reason to think it was something it was separate. These curious things happened when that small.Few years later the president's brother was killed. It made my mom sad, I was feeling strange. What is happening in the USA? Life went for me and all the kids my age. The grown-ups upset. I was not sure what my feelings should be. Anyway it was a lifetime ago. Everyone who had been killed in the USA at that time was strange many people are several years younger than I am now and do know this story, which was with all the time.

I cannot find the price of the final sale, but I see that her house is up for sale at #3.6 million in July 2010.

Kelly Kline Burnett from Madison, Wisconsin on July 30, 2010:

Patty Inglish,

The rare photo - any news on the price at auction?

"The black and white photograph, taken by White House photographer Cecil Stoughton, shows her in the revealing, rhinstone studded dress she wore whilst singing at Madison Square Garden in New York.

President Kennedy, who was not known to be camera shy, appears to be turning his face towards the wall and away from the camera, while his brother Robert F Kennedy looks on.

The Secret Service had clear instructions not to allow any photographs to be taken of the President and Miss Monroe together and the picture only survived because when agents came to confiscate it, the negatives were in the photographic dryer."

Fascinating history.

Kelly Kline Burnett from Madison, Wisconsin on July 30, 2010:

Fascinating hub, I have read some very interesting things about Marilyn Monroe, in a book, titled, Painted Black this book was written by Carl A. Raschke, a crime investigator, that specialized in ritualistic murders, and it tells about Marilyn's connections with Anton Le Vey, and also about La Vey's connections with actress Jane Mansfeild. Very interesting book, you article reminded me of that. Very interesting hub.

Detroit on June 06, 2008:

I for one am anxious to see the Marilyn Monroe movie coming out in Summer 2008. Answers or no, it will be intriguing to watch under the light of history and conspiracy theory research. I wonder if it will premiere on the anniversary of her death - August 5.

Patty Inglish MS (author) from USA and Asgardia, the First Space Nation on March 18, 2008:

Thank you for your insightful comments, William! I've recently read some articles about Lincoln's assassination and seen a play about John Wilkes Booth that were all very interesting.

As for Marilyn Monroe, I still believe that she was murdered, because of the tape recorded phone conversation of Peter Lawford while he was standing in her bedroom with her dead in bed. I think it would have been more logical of innocencs to call just one number - the police - and leave the phone alone after that. I don't know what history will prove about all this, but I think she was murdered because certain groups believed she 1) could not keep her mouth shut and 2) would not get the facts straight, would gossip, and would cause worse trouble than the truth would bring. However, I think her poor health habits would have done her in before about 1965 anyway.
