Heidegger says that
We deceive ourselves in the worst way if we believe that the technological device that makes the current world work is an instrument that we manage as the carpenter handles the hammer.
And here deceiving us in the worst way means: with an essential deception that is the greatest danger to the meaning of our life and our world.

Heidegger is not interested in technique as a tool, but rather in how technique constructs the truth of things, how it recreates the world and how, through the use of technology, nature, and human beings are defined.
For the Greeks nature was an object to be admired, however, for us who live in a technological world, nature is an instrument to be exploited. We are not preserving nature, but we are preserving a business. Here we can see how technology has changed our relationships, has changed us and changed our truth.
Heidegger believes that today, the technique defines man and nature and not the opposite as always had happened.
