He emigrated to the United States in 1884 to work for Thomas Edison in New York City. In this American city Tesla was setting up laboratories and companies to develop a range of electrical devices. All time , he was trying to put his ideas to practical use at intercontinental wireless transmission. Nikola Tesla was best known for his contribution to the design of the modern alternating current-AC ellectricity supply system. It is considered that Tesla was an inventor, an electrical engineer, a mechanical engineer, a physicist and a futurist at the same time....with one word- He was a genius.
In his lab he was a magic creator-he conducted a range of experiments with mechanical generators, electrical discharges tubes and early X-ray imaging. Tesla also built a wireless controlled boat which was one of the first ever exhibited.
But, Tesla died as a very poor and lonely man in one hotel's room where he spent last ten years of his life from 1933 to 1943. He is a forgotten genius. Although he died in 1943 his contribution were immense in the field of electricity and engineering. Tesla died as a poor man but some of his ideas still serve a lot of purpose for us today.
