What is Bubbling Math?
I was offered a free version of Bubbling Math in exchange for a review. Bubbling Math is an iPad app for math fact practice in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. It costs $1.99. There are four levels for each concept. For addition, the easy level is math facts up to 10, the medium level is addition facts up to 20, hard goes up to 50, and the expert level goes up to 100.
One really nice feature in Bubbling Math is the ability to mix different types of math facts. For example, you can practice addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts together. You can also set different levels of difficulty. So, you could practice expert addition, hard subtraction, medium multiplication, and easy division. This is an app that can be used all through elementary school.
It always helps to have something kids can earn. Bubbling Math has nine background scenes. Eight of them are locked. Players have to earn bronze, silver, and gold trophies. Once they have earned the trophies, they can unlock a new cartoon background scene. I like the concept of unlocking scenes. Hopefully, the developers will add more in the future.
There is also something kids can lose to provide more of a challenge. There are three lives represented by hearts. If the answer to a particular equation is incorrect, a heart is lost. Only one heart is lost per equation. Getting three equations wrong ends the game.
Bubbling Math has kid-friendly graphics, as well as music and sound effects.
I have purchased several math facts apps. This is definitely a good one to add to the collection. For $1.99, you are buying something that your kids will be able to use for several years of elementary school math.
Like most math fact games, Bubbling Math is something you will have to make your child play. Kids generally don't think of solving equations as fun. Bubbling Math is a good option because it covers addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, and can be used for years. It should be a hit with most parents.
