The modern economists and the policy makers only calculate the benefits associated with the material consumption of the resources and neglect the damages at micro levels which are caused by their overzealous attitudes. They forget that the overall wellness and happiness increases not with over but with the lesser use of materialistic comforts.

It is due to excessive levels of comfort that the rich people suffer from the luxuries of mental problems like heart attack, asthma, blood pressure etc., more than the poor people, despite the reason that the former spend thousand times more on their comforts and amenities.

While increasing the levels of consumption we are causing serious damages at micro levels.

The burning example of such painful and reckless attitude is the construction of hydroelectric dams on rivers. The experts believe that the water does not get affected in any way after generating the electricity. They believe that the river water remains as such after leading to the production of electricity. They argue that the same amount of water comes out from the powerhouse after falling on the turbines and the water does not get spent or polluted in any way and as a bonus, the electricity is generated.

But here the minute properties of the water are being neglected. Craig Hoffman tells in “Inclean website” that the molecules of water are not free. The oxygen atoms of water molecule and the hydrogen atoms are bound together by weak hydrogen bonds and all the molecules of water remain arranged by being attached to each other in a definite network like the fine arrangement of iron filling in concentric lines around the magnet.

Masaru Imoto, the Japanese researcher froze the water and photographed the ice cubes and observed them with dark field microscope. The same water on physical levels was found to be microscopically and structurally different.

Wolfgong Ludwig, the German doctor in an article published in a magazine found that the structure of the water molecules remains as such until it is shaken. This situation is similar to that of iron filling which retains its position of fine lines even after the removal of the magnet.

Craig Hoffman again states in “Inclean Website” that this microscopic property of water is used in homeopathic medicines. On mixing with medicines, the microscopic structure of pure water gets adjusted to that of medicine.

Even the molecular structure of the water remains like that of medicine if later on the medicine is removed after large dilution of water. The intake of a drop of such water gives the shape of the structure of medicine to the water present in the cells of the body. It is similar to splitting the milk with a drop of lemon juice.

Hence it is clear that the water may not get decayed in hydroelectric projects, but its molecular structure gets deformed. According to Hoffman, the best way to make the molecular structure of water properly arranged is through the gushing flow of water in the river.

Similar to the whirlpools appearing in the flowing water of bathtubs and wash basins, innumerable such vortexes are formed in the violent flow of water in the rivers. These whirlpools, swirls, and currents break the deformities present in the molecular structure of water and lead to a definite arrangement.

By drinking and bathing in such water, the water present in the body cells also acquires the balanced and pure form of molecular structure.

Nitrogen Supersaturation

The supersaturation is a state in which the solution contains more of the dissolved material that could be added to the solvent in normal conditions.

The water is stored in big reservoirs built for hydroelectric dams. When the water is released from the reservoirs and it hits the pool below the dam, a great commotion or turbulence is created with the thrust of the mass of water. As a result, the aeration occurs in which the air gets trapped in the spilled water and a rich amount of air gets trapped in water which increases the extent of nitrogen in such water. It is due to the reason that the air is composed of 78% of nitrogen. This phenomenon of increase of nitrogen in water leads to the supersaturation of water with nitrogen.

This supersaturated water does not lose the excess nitrogen quickly and easily. Thus a greater amount of nitrogen enters the tissues of the fish and other aquatic life living in such conditions. As a result, when the fish swim from the region supersaturated with nitrogen to a lower pressure area, a condition similar to the bends or cramps may occur. Such bends are also found during the scuba diving. This sudden change in the environmental condition may cause injury and even death to fish and other aquatic life.

Reservoirs Cause Stratification

When the storage projects are built, the reservoirs or lakes are created. These artificial reservoirs significantly and unevenly slow down the rate of flow of water downstream. The surface water moves at a slower rate as compared to the layers of water at deeper levels. As a result, the slower moving surface water absorbs more heat from the sun and its temperatures increase.

In addition to the warming of surface water, the colder water sinks toward the bottom because of its higher density. This increases the viscous drag and causes a layering effect known as stratification. The bottom layer is the coldest and the top layer the warmest.

Along With stratification, another ecosystem effect occurs. In this case, the colder water that sinks toward the bottom contains reduced levels of oxygen in it. Thereafter when at some sites the water is released downstream from the depths of the reservoir, this colder and oxygen deficient water changes the habitat conditions for the aquatic life. Because of the reduced oxygen level in the water the structure and hydrogen bonding of the water molecules also change.

It may be due to these reasons that the bathing in rivers at the pilgrimages is termed as the washing of the sins. The water is kept in a small pitcher during the Navratras or nine days of praying, incanting of hymns and fasting by the Hindus. These acts and sounds impart definite molecular structure to water and the sprinklings of such water on the bodies purify the molecular structure of the cells of the body.

The same principle may be working behind the Baptism in Christianity, in which the holy water is sprinkled on those being taken into the religious fold.

The recent researches on the effect of music on plants are the continuation of this process in which the sound affects the structure of the of plants and thereby increases the growth and production of plants.

Other proofs of the microscopic molecular structure of water are also available and the plants irrigated by such pure water give more yield and the animals also needless fodder if the water is pure.

The deformed water structure disturbs the normal structure of cytoplasm or the liquid inside the living cells and causes unnatural stress on the normal functioning and the complex reactions inside the cells. It may lead to unknown complications about which we are not still aware. But the pieces of evidence created by Craig Hoffman and Masaru Imoto stress the need to seriously study the subject.

How much you agree


So the economic evaluation of the effects of the molecular structure of water on man, animal and beasts will certainly tilt the scale against the reckless hydroelectric power generation. The research in the fields of the after effects on water by passing it through tunnels and throwing it on turbines needs to be conducted. What are the effects of drinking or bathing in the standing water or the water coming out of the dams? The mental and physical disturbance caused by the deformed molecular structure of water needs to be further researched. This health damage to the general public is more than the benefits.

We may term it the side effects of hydroelectric power which is thousand times more than the cheap energy. While exploiting the physical resources of pure and holy water of the rivers, the effects on its molecular properties should also be considered.

Interesting insights. Conceptually, it appears quite logical that changes should occur at every level of material structure when subjected to any process that modifies its environment.
